Doomben free tips & form
Race 1. (11:47) Gadens BM85 (2000m)
#6 – Clevanicc @ $5 – Bet Now
Kris Lees lines up the six-year-old which could offer punters with some value at the odds.
The son of Nicconi has finished in the money in 15 of his 28 starts and although yet to win this campaign, he hasn’t been all that far away.
Gets every chance down in the weights at 54kg and he shouldn’t be forgotten about.
Race 2. (12:22) Spicers Retreat 0MW (1600m)
#1 – Ready For Danger @ $6.50 – Bet Now
Ready For Danger improved nicely to run second at Murwillumbah last start and that form could translate nicely to this.
The six-year-old gelding is a seven-time winner from 23 starts and although he hasn’t won this campaign, it’s only a matter of time.
Punters are getting good odds for the risk.
Race 3. (12:58) Herron Todd White C6 (1350m)
#9 – Francisca @ $6.50 – Bet Now
Francisca is out of form but we’re sticking with the ship. The five-year-old mare has finished in the money in 12 of her 19 starts and that’s good consistency.
However, she hasn’t won for some time now and that’s concerning for punters. In saying that, she made up good ground last start and this isn’t a deep field.
Gets in with a light weight and improvement should come.
Race 4. (13:33) Kestrel Solutions C3 (1200m)
#4 – Macewen @ $3.60 – Bet Now
Macewen is a talented four-year-old which has had two runs this campaign and that fitness should make him tough to beat.
He showed good ability when scoring three consecutive wins last campaign and getting the inside draw should see him go close here.
Yet to win from three starts on this track, but he should settle closer and run nicely.
Race 5. (14:08) Vae Group Handicap (1050m)
#3 – Meet Mr Taylor @ $1.65 – Bet Now
Kelly Schweida lines up the impressive five-year-old which has won seven of his nine career starts.
The son of Turffontein scored against a nice field last time out at Doomben and he has won four of his six starts at Doomben.
Bookmakers have opened him at short odds for this off the inside draw and that’s not surprising. He should be at short odds given his record.
Looks a good bet so include him in multi bets.
Race 6. (14:43) Rostron Carlyle Plate (1200m)
#13 – Shalwa @ $2.90 – Bet Now
Tony Gollan lines up the five-year-old mare which comes into this with consecutive trial wins.
That should hold her in good stead and although she didn’t finish the race when last in action, her return has been solid.
She has beaten some nice types throughout her career and punters are getting good odds considering the risk.
Race 7. (15:22) JLL Handicap (1110m)
#3 – Gem of Scotland – Bet Now
Rex Lipp lines up the three-year-old filly which has impressed with four wins from six starts.
The daughter of Rothesay finished sixth at Eagle Farm last start but that was against a hot field and a much better one than she faces here.
Her best form would see her winning this and although there are some nice types engaged, she should go close.
Race 8. (16:02) Bentley’s C6 Handicap (1350m)
#4 – Langhro @ $2.40 – Bet Now
Langhro was an impressive fresh-up winner last start at Gold Coast and that form should hold nicely.
The O’dea-trained seven-year-old scored by four lengths and he has always been a confidence runner, so that’s a good sign of things to come.
Drawn to get a nice run in transit and there has been good money come in the early betting markets.
Race 9. (16:42) TAB Handicap (1350m)
#1 – Order Again @ $4.40 – Bet Now
Order Again has the class edge over this field and although he doesn’t win fresh-up often, he could resume a winner here.
The six-year-old has six wins from 19 starts and his most recent run was a third placing behind Vinland in the Wayne Wilson at Eagle Farm.
$4.40 is a good price for punters and that should drop.
