Dubbo racing tips
—
Race 1. (13:40) 2DU & ZooFM Maiden (1000m)
#11 – Imastatement @ $2.45
Imastatement has been confidently backed following an eighth on debut at Dubbo, which came in October.
The three-year-old filly by Press Statement opened at $3.50 before firming into $2.45, and that’s a sizable move.
We’re happy to follow the betting support in the opener.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 2. (14:20) Inland Petroleum C1 (2200m)
#10 – Casino Diva @ $5.50
Casino Diva won well two back at Orange before placing at Wellington, and there is nothing wrong with that form.
The three-year-old filly by Casino Prince has had three starts at the track for one placing, but having experience here adds to her appeal.
55.5kg is ideal and the each-way odds are generous.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 3. (14:55) Ezyquip Hire Maiden (1600m)
#1 – Harry Tudor @ $2.70
Harry Tudor continues to run well without winning, but after posting five consecutive placings, it’s about time he won a race.
The five-year-old son of Frankel owns two placings at Dubbo, which came earlier this preparation, so that’s a good sign.
After opening at $4.20, it has been one-way traffic in betting.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 4. (15:35) Marty Nelson Refrigeration BM58 (1600m)
#1 – Commando Jack @ $4.80
The five-year-old son of Churchill doesn’t always show his best, but he has been threatening to win after posting back-to-back placings.
He placed at Tamworth and Orange, and although carrying 61kg isn’t easy over the mile, he’s good enough to handle this field.
We’re including the each-way odds in our picks.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 5. (16:10) Desspos Solutions C3 (1400m)
#3 – Ritzsun @ $2.60
Ritzsun is much better than what he has shown this preparation, but because of his ability, we’re sticking with him.
He won his first two starts before spelling, and he should appreciate the rise in distance to 1400m after hitting the line well.
His odds are shortening, so take the current price.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 6. (16.45) Stridyl BM58 (1200m)
#2 – Pyromania @ $8.50
Punters get value odds with Pyromania, who won well two back before placing at Coonamble last time out.
The five-year-old son of Snitzel isn’t always the most consistent type going around, but there isn’t much depth to this field.
Look for him to settle handy and kick strongly.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 7. (17:20) Dubbo Plasterboard C1 (1000m)
#5 – Quick Sharp @ $2.20
Money should come for Quick Sharp, who hit the line nicely for second at Scone last start.
The Rodney Northam-trained filly showed good speed when winning on debut, and anything close to that effort is good enough.
We expect that form to come back to light, so include her at short odds.
Stake: 4 Units
