We have expert betting tips for racing at Dubbo on Friday, which includes nine races at the quality meeting.
Punters get good value odds for the New South Wales meeting, and we have betting tips for every race on the card.
Head Kahuna is nearing a win after posting placing in all six starts, including last time out at Scone.
The three-year-old son of Headwater keeps finding one or two better than him, but it’s only a matter of time before he wins a race.
We’re sticking with him until he does.
Stake: 1 Unit
Nick Olive lines up Star of Lily, who scored a maiden win at Moruya before struggling to fire at Sandown last time out.
It’s not easy to go to Melbourne and win, so we can be forgiving that effort, and a bounce back effort is expected.
She gets the inside draw, which should see her land close to the speed and kick well.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Boasting six placings from nine starts is Leovanni, who wasn’t far away when finishing fifth at Scone last time out.
That’s a good form guide for this level of racing, and she looks set to handle heavy tracks this winter, hence the shortening odds.
The $2.20 is worth including in horse racing multis.
Stake: 2 Units
Despite being well-beaten when running second at Scone last start, we liked the way Starverna hit the line after getting too far back.
The three-year-old filly showed an excellent turn-of-foot, and it bodes well for her future, especially at this level.
The $1.55 odds are skinny but include her in multis.
Stake: 3.5 Units
We’re not sure if she’s living up to her name as a spring prospect, but she’s good enough to win at this time of the year.
The four-year-old mare by Headwater owns a win and four placings from nine starts, including two placings at Dubbo.
She likes the track, and the drop in class should take her close.
Stake: 1 Unit
Looking to improve on two solid efforts this campaign is Gail Jeanette, who is a past winner at Dubbo.
The three-year-old filly ran second at Parkes last time out, and although it wasn’t a strong field, she was always going to improve with the run.
Getting in with 55kg should make her tough to hold out.
Stake: 1 Unit
The five-year-old mare doesn’t win all that often, but she should give punters a good sight.
She owns a win and five placings from 16 starts, with two of those placings coming at Wellington and Bathurst earlier this prep.
Getting 2kg off her back helps, so include her at each-way odds.
Stake: 1 Unit
We’re snapping up the each-way odds for Jagerschnitzel, who would be shorter in betting markets had he drawn a barrier.
The four-year-old gelding by Zousain ran third in a tough race at Scone last start, and the form of Starverna could be franked earlier on the card.
The $5 odds are too good to pass up.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Stockholm is nearing a win after back-to-back second placings, and he shouldn’t be too far away from the prize.
There is more depth in this field, but he is a two-time winner at Dubbo, and a three-time winner over the distance.
The double-figure odds make him worth the risk.
Stake: 1 Unit
