Eagle Farm horse racing tips

Race 1. (11:38) Stradbroke Season on Sale Handicap (1000m)

#1 – Debussy @ $1.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Debussy comes off two trial wins at Gold Coast and that’s good enough form for his debut.

The Edmonds-trained two-year-old won by a length last time out and drawing barrier two should see him ride the speed.

Follow the money and back this runner on Saturday.

Race 2. (12:13) Sky Racing Handicap (1000m)

#1 – Stellar Magic @ $2.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Stellar Magic has made a positive start to her career with a win and two second placings. The win came two back at Grafton before going close in open company.

She was only a half-length behind them last time out and she almost scored after trying to lead throughout. It was a tidy effort and the form looks good for this level of racing.

Race 3. (12:48) Gallopers Sports Club BM85 (1600m)

#5 – Jay Jay D’ar @ $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Jay Jay D’ar is a five-year-old mare that comes off some tidy efforts at Eagle Farm and it’s good enough form for this contest.

The Chris Waller-trained mare owns five wins and 10 placings, with one of those wins coming at Sunshine Coast this preparation.

$5 is a good price and punters should get a good sight.

Race 4. (13:23) Canadian Club BM78 (2200m)

#9 – Bold Executive @ $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The three-year-old gelding comes off two wins and a placing from his last three starts, which is ideal form for this race.

He goes well on this track and after scoring by 1.5 lengths, he looks well-placed with only 54kg on his back.

The inside draw is ideal and $4 is a value price.

Race 5. (13:58) James Squire Daybreak Lover (1400m)

#6 – Gotta Kiss @ $3.30 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Gotta Kiss has been disappointing this season but she deserves another chance and this is her favourite track.

The three-year-old filly owns three wins and six placings from 13 starts, so she is always around the mark and this isn’t a strong field.

A bounce-back effort is expected.

Race 6. (14:37) Racecourse Village C3 Plate (1200m)

#10 – Euro Belle @ $8 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Euro Belle is a three-time winner that faces a rise in class here but she is capable of beating this field.

The Gillian Heinrich-trained mare owns a win and a placing on this track and she is a two-time winner at this distance.

$8 is a terrific price and we’re expecting a big run.

Race 7. (15:17) Tab Venue Mode Handicap (1400m)

#5 – Junction @ $2.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Junction is a professional eight-time winner that has been slowly getting back to his best this season.

The six-year-old son of Real Saga finished fourth at Eagle Farm last start and he battled on strongly, but lacked fitness.

Punters should be confident of a much better effort this time around.

Race 8. (16:02) Tab Ascot Handicap (1000m)

#1 – Vega One @ $4.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Vega One hasn’t had the smoothest career but he was beaten less than a length in the Group 1 Stradbroke and his trial form is good.

The five-year-old scored by 3.3 lengths at the Doomben trials and although he’s fresh up after 10 months off, he is the class runner.

$4.60 is a fair price given the risk, but put him on top.

Race 9. (16:38) BRC Carnival Membership 0MW (1400m)

#6 – Bonaparte @ $9 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Bonaparte owns good form this season, including two wins from his last five starts. He scored at Sunshine Coast three back and he wasn’t far behind them last start.

His two starts at Eagle Farm haven’t resulted in much so far, but he enjoys racing at this distance and punters get value odds.

Jim Byrne rides and having a senior rider on board could be enough.
