Eagle Farm horse racing tips
Race 1. (11:18) Tab Long May We Play Handicap (1500m)
#2 – Apache Chase @ $2.05 – Bet Now
Apache Chase returned from a spell with a one-length win at Eagle Farm and he is more than capable of going back-to-back.
The three-year-old faces only a small field here and he should be able to dictate the pace from the outset.
$2.05 is a respectable price and he could run at an odds-on quote.
Race 2. (11:53) Kirin BM90 (2200m)
#7 – Humbolt Current @ $2.25 – Bet Now
The Chris Waller-trained gelding got back to winning form with a win at Eagle Farm last time out and he could go on with it.
He scored nicely by 1.5 lengths and the change to Queensland racing has clearly done him plenty of good.
From a good barrier, we are expecting another tidy effort.
Race 3. (12:28) Gallopers Sports Club C6 Handicap (1600m)
#5 – Stuttering @ $2.75 – Bet Now
Stuttering continues to win and he demands ultimate respect from punters. The four-year-old owns three wins already this campaign and he fights all the way to the line.
He has missed a placing in only one of his 11 starts to date and we are not surprised at his odds shortening with every day.
A senior rider is in the saddle and he should go close once again.
Race 4. (13:03) Tab Long May We Play Handicap (1000m)
#9 – Bleu Zebra @ $1.55 – Bet Now
After opening at $2.15, Bleu Zebra has been smashed in betting since. The Tony Gollan-trained filly won by 2.3 lengths on debut and it could go back-to-back.
Juveniles from this stable often keep their form and there is every reason to follow this exciting youngster.
The odds are short but could be worth taking.
Race 5. (13:42) NTL Jockeys Celebration Day 0MW (1200m)
#5 – Bugalugs @ $7 – Bet Now
Bugalugs is a form runner which could win his fourth consecutive race. The five-year-old gelding scored a gutsy win at Eagle Farm last start and he could remain unbeaten at this track.
Drawing barrier 12 could give him some problems but he owns a stack of barrier speed and he loves this distance.
$7 is well worth any risk associated with backing Bugalugs.
Race 6. (14:22) Mount Franklin C3 Plate (1400m)
#12 – Starla @ $4.20 – Bet Now
The Chris Waller-trained mare is coming off back-to-back wins and she is at much shorter odds this time around.
Punters have secured double-figure odds at her last two runs and although dropping to $4.20, she has open-class experience.
The big field should suit her chances and we’re confident in a good effort.
Race 7. (15:02) BRC Membership Renewal 0MW (1200m)
#6 – Bubbles Ball @ $11 – Bet Now
Bubbles Ball struggled to win during her last campaign but the ability is there and she is worth sticking with.
The five-year-old mare has had two trials to prepare for this run and if everything goes right during the run, she can finish over the top of them.
There is value with the $11 price, so take what’s on offer.
Race 8. (15:42) XXXX Dry Handicap (1400m)
#2 – Right Or Wrong @ $6.50 – Bet Now
Right Or Wrong scored an upset win four starts back and although beaten since, he has been competing in strong company.
The nine-year-old has had problems throughout his career but he is talented at best. He could rediscover his best form here and pay a nice price in the process.
Race 9. (16:18) Ascot Green BM72 (1800m)
#14 – Parangas @ $3.20 – Bet Now
Parangas is coming off a win at Gold Coast and she recorded it in style. It was a three-length effort and she made big ground from the back of the field.
The daughter of Rothesay stays down in the weights despite the win and she should be tough to beat once again.
Money is coming for her and she could start even shorter on race day.
