Eagle Farm horse racing tips
Race 1. (13:38) Sporting Chance Handicap (1000m)
#6 – Looming Large @ $4.40 – Bet Now
Tony Gollan lines up the two-year-old colt that won a trial at Doomben to prepare for this race.
The son of Spirit of Boom won by a length in a good time and punters are getting value odds for the promising type.
He will require a good ride from the draw but he’ll likely settle off the pace and come with a big run late.
Race 2. (14:13) QLD Chinese Jockey Club C3 (1200m)
#4 – Invigorating @ $6 – Bet Now
Punters might want to overlook her two failures this season. She has beaten only six runners home in those two runs, but this is a massive drop in class.
She ran behind the likes of Malahide and Yamazaki, so we’re prepared to forgive those efforts and stick with her.
There is good betting support and that’s a good sign.
Race 3. (14:48) Eva Air C6 Plate (1600m)
#4 – Trevelyan @ $1.75 – Bet Now
Trevelyan is a smart type and although punters will need to take short odds, he should be able to get the job done.
The four-year-old gelding hasn’t finished worse than second at his last seven runs, which has included three wins.
Jockey Ron Stewart should get a dream run from barrier five and be right in the thick of the finish once again.
Race 4. (15:23) Osim Handicap (1840m)
#3 – New Universe @ $3.60 – Bet Now
Punters almost landed the plunge with New Universe at Eagle Farm last start. The Chris Waller-trained runner flashed home late to run behind Cool Chap.
He was beaten on his merits by the race favourite, but he’s getting better this campaign and should be ready to strike.
The seven-time winner has been tough to follow throughout his career. However, he’s classy at best.
Race 5. (16:02) Paddyfest BM75 (1000m)
#13 – Let’s Cheer Again @ $6.50 – Bet Now
Form is with Let’s Cheer Again, which has rattled off four consecutive wins coming into this race.
The Stuart Kendrick-trained colt has been winning at Sunshine Coast and he has shown good tactical pace throughout his career.
This is a rise in class but the weight helps and having Larry Cassidy in the saddle should ensure a good trip in the run.
Race 6. (16:42) QLD Chinese Jockey Club BM85 (1400m)
#2 – Impasse @ $3.80 – Bet Now
The class runner of this field, Impasse could give Eagle Farm value punters something to cheer for this Saturday.
He’s a five-time winner and seven-time placegetter that ran a huge race for second at Eagle Farm last start.
He made up big ground in the straight and he has the blinking light on. Having Robbie Fradd in the saddle only adds to the appeal.
Race 7. (17:22) TAB BM70 (1600m)
#13 – Starbuster @ $5.50 – Bet Now
Starbuster was a brilliant winner at Doomben three back and hasn’t disgraced himself in two starts since.
The Robbie Heathcote-trained gelding set the pace before running third on this track last start. He should be fitter for the run and the light weight helps.
He carries 55.5kg and he won’t have much problem pushing forward from barrier three.
$5.50 is a good price for punters.
Race 8. (18:02) QLD Chinese Jockey Club Handicap (1200m)
#6 – Manaya @ $4.60 – Bet Now
A proven fresh up winner, Manaya is looking to score her third fresh up win. The six-year-old scored on this track last July and a similar run takes her close.
Michael Costa has had a tough time keeping her sound, but she’s a real talent on her day. She owns seven wins from 28 starts and it could have been many more.
She is a risk for punters but the $4.60 makes her worth a punt.
Race 9. (18:40) Girls Day Out Handicap (1400m)
#7 – Baroda @ $4.20 – Bet Now
Baroda could end the day on the high. The Edmonds-trained filly has won her last two races by a combined margin of 4.3 lengths.
She defeated a talented field at Doomben last start, which included Ingear. Form out of that race stacks up beautifully for this, so put her on top again.
The $4.20 should firm on race day.
