Eagle Farm horse racing tips

Race 1. (13:42) Tab Venue Mode Handicap (1200m)

#1 – Habib @ $3.30 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Habib hit the line with power on debut at Sunshine Coast and he should derive plenty of benefit from the run.

The Matt Currie-trained two-year-old was heavily backed on that occasion and money could come again on Saturday.

$3.30 is a value price for the second favourite.

Race 2. (14:17) Mount Franklin BM80 (1830m)

#2 – Quality Approach @ $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Quality Approach comes off a win at Eagle Farm and he could continue in that vein of form.

The five-year-old is a six-time winner from 20 starts and he looked good winning by a half-head in his only Eagle Farm attempt.

Punters get value odds and he should be tough to hold out.

Race 3. (14:52) XXXX Dry BM90 (2200m)

#5 – Devine Grey @ $2.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Devine Grey hasn’t run a bad race this season and she enters with three wins and three second placings from her last six starts.

The Matthew Dunn-trained mare is a three-time winner at this distance and the four-year-old is a progressive type.

The light weight is ideal and we’re expecting her odds to firm.

Race 4. (15:27) BRC Like Nowhere Else C3 (1200m)

#8 – Pull Anchor @ $3 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Pull Anchor is only a three-time winner but she has figured in the finish in 14 of 20 career starts. That is a consistent start to her career and she was only narrowly beaten last time out.

The Tony Gollan-trained mare loves this distance and with Ryan Maloney in the saddle, punters should expect another top effort.

The $3 should remain firm on race day.

Race 5. (16:03) Canadian Club Handicap (1000m)

#2 – Royal Witness @ $5.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Royal Witness hasn’t been at his best this preparation but the five-year-old is capable of winning this race.

He is a six-time winner over 1000m and he should find this much easier than taking on Written Beauty at Randwick.

55kg helps and we’re confident of an improved run.

Race 6. (16:43) Racecourse Village Handicap (1000m)

#3 – What The Fuss @ $3.30 – Bet @ Sportsbet

What The Fuss was good enough to score consecutive wins earlier this preparation before placing in two subsequent starts.

The five-year-old gelding has yet to race at Eagle Farm but his form around the New South Wales provincial circuits has been solid.

He has finished in the money in 14 of his 24 starts, so expect a big effort.

Race 7. (17:23) BRC Membership Handicap (1600m)

#1 – Jetty @ $3.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Jetty owns enough talent to beat this field and after posting two wins and three placings, he could win another.

The Edmonds-trained son of Jet Spur finished second at Eagle Farm last start and he was only a half-length behind Tycoon Evie.

He can turn that result around on Saturday, so include.

Race 8. (18:03) Sky Racing Handicap (1000m)

#1 – Broken Hero @ $5.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Broken Hero is always around the mark and he owns two wins from five attempts over the short-course distance.

The son of Better Than Ready is a three-time winner from 11 starts and punters get an each-way price to take for Saturday.

We recommend adding him to selections.

Race 9. (18:43) BRC Girls Day Out BM85 (1400m)

#13 – Tesarc @ $5.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Tesarc has been well-backed throughout the week following a superb win at Eagle Farm last time out.

The Currie-trained six-year-old owns two wins from three starts at Eagle Farm, and that form is tough to overlook.

Getting 3kg off his back brings him right into contention.
