Eagle Farm horse racing tips
Race 1. (13:38) TAB Handicap (1200m)
#1 – Boom Spender @ $4.60 – Bet Now
Two-year-old gelding Boom Spender did the job on debut and he could remain unbeaten.
He’s a son of Spirit of Boom which controlled the speed out in front and never let up in the straight.
Getting a good run from barrier three won’t be an issue and he’s paying value odds for punters in the opening race.
Race 2. (14:13) Cascade BM75 (2225m)
#8 – Swing Shift @ $5.50 – Bet Now
Shooting for his fourth consecutive win, Swing Shift is a leading contender in this race.
The Matt Boland-trained gelding didn’t show much at the beginning of his career but has turned around his form in style.
Those wins have come against easier opposition but he’s worth including with only 54kg on his back.
Race 3. (14:48) Grinders C3 Handicap (1840m)
#10 – Valadyium @ $7.50 – Bet Now
Valadyium is a two-time winner from 11 starts and she’s coming off a tidy win at Sunshine Coast.
The three-year-old by Shamus Award made up good ground in the straight and she’s worth including at the odds.
Her form at Eagle Farm isn’t the best but there’s always time for redemption and the $7.50 is worth taking.
Race 4. (15:23) Mount Franklin Handicap (1600m)
#4 – Vanna Girl @ $4.60 – Bet Now
Team Edmonds lines up the three-year-old filly that scored an upset win at Sunshine Coast last start.
The daughter of Husson scored at odds of $21 and after settling well back in the run, she stormed home for the victory.
She’s going to enjoy running from the inside draw and although the odds are shorter this time around, she deserves the attention.
Race 5. (16:02) Jim Beam BM70 (1200m)
#5 – Katy’s Daughter @ $2.20 – Bet Now
Katy’s Daughter capped off some solid form with a win at Sunshine Coast last time out.
The four-year-old mare destroyed a good field by 4.8 lengths and it suggested she could rise through the grades nicely.
It was her second win from six starts and there has been a stack of money come her way. She opened at $2.50 and has already firmed into $2.20.
Race 6. (16:42) Canadian Club Handicap (1600m)
#6 – New Universe @ $4 – Bet Now
New Universe doesn’t win often but he’s a dangerous type on his day and he went close last start.
The six-year-old ran just under a length behind Cool Chap at Eagle Farm and he could turn the tables.
He gets in with only 56.5kg on his back and drawing barrier three should see him right around the mark approaching the home turn.
$4 is a fair price from bookmakers.
Race 7. (17:22) Coca Cola 0MW (1400m)
#11 – Sofie’s Gold Class @ $4.20 – Bet Now
Despite drawing barrier 17, Sofie’s Gold Class should prove tough to beat in this race.
The six-year-old mare is a four-time winner from just 13 starts and she finished off strongly behind Cruze last start.
She will get back from the draw, so it’s not the worst place to be and carrying only 54.5kg is a bonus.
Race 8. (18:02) Makers Mark Handicap (1200m)
#2 – Snowzone @ $3.80 – Bet Now
Snowzone is backing up after an emphatic win last start and he looks a good chance of winning again.
The Kris Lees-trained son of Snitzel scored by 4.3 lengths at Doomben and he relished the wet track conditions.
The track is good this Saturday but he has handled it in the past. Stick with him and punters are getting nice odds.
Race 9. (18:42) Roku Gin C6 Handicap (1200m)
#12 – Malahide @ $4.20 – Bet Now
We’re prepared to give Malahide another chance after running sixth at Gold Coast last start.
The four-year-old got too far back in the run and she made up good ground in the straight.
She can be tough to follow but with only 54kg on her back, she shouldn’t be too far away from the prize.
