Race 1. (11:43) Winning Edge Presentation C3 (1300m)
#1 – Sparky Lad @ $4.40 – Bet Now
Chris Waller lines up the four-year-old which hasn’t won for awhile now, but went well at Doomben last start.
He is a three-time winner and although punters will look at his form line with trepidation, he has been facing some tough fields.
Looks well-placed here and could offer value.
Race 2. (12:18) Functions @ Tattersalls Handicap (1500m)
#3 – Knight Mariner @ $3.40 – Bet Now
Tony Gollan lines up Knight Mariner, which ran well for third on debut at Doomben and he didn’t have all luck in running.
The well-bred colt by Tavistock showed ability at the trials prior to that run and although drawn barrier 12 for this, he looks tough to beat.
$3.40 is worth the risk.
Race 3. (12:53) Des Lambart Memorial BM75 (2200m)
#7 – No Money No Honey @ $5.50 – Bet Now
The odds for No Money No Honey will be affected by whether or not Attorney lines up. It’s looking as though it won’t, so go with the value option here.
She’s a six-year-old mare which has won four from 20 starts and there’s nothing wrong with that record.
Wasn’t all that far away at Grafton last start and that form looks good for this.
Race 4. (13:28) Stella Artois BM70 (1000m)
#2 – Unlikely Story @ $3.80 – Bet Now
Drawing barrier 11 could make it tough but there’s no doubting the ability of Unlikely Story.
The Gollan-trained four-year-old finished a close third placing at Gold Coast last time out and he has been readied with back-to-back trials.
Owns a good turn-of-foot and being fresh up won’t be an issue.
Race 5. (14:07) G.H. Mumm Handicap (1000m)
#1 – Jami Lady @ $2.40 – Bet Now
Jami Lady was an impressive winner at short odds last start and she’s more than capable of kicking on with it now.
The three-year-old scored by two lengths at Doomben and she also has experience running at Eagle Farm when running fourth two starts back.
Ron Stewart will have to give her a good ride from barrier 11 but she’s an adaptable type with class on her side.
Race 6. (14:47) Lazy Yak C6 Handicap (1400m)
#8 – Tokoriki Lad @ $3.40 – Bet Now
He hasn’t won for some time now but Tokoriki Lad showed that he wasn’t far off when running third last time out.
The four-year-old ran one length behind the winner last start at Doomben and with natural improvement and fitness, he should go close here.
Drops down to 54kg and that’s going to make him tough to hold out.
Race 7. (15:27) Triple M’s QLD Cup (3200m)
#5 – Azuro @ $2.80 – Bet Now
Azuro continues to fight gamely and enters this race having won at Rosehill by a half-length last time out.
The tough Victorian should be suited by the two miles and he has a win and a placing from two starts over 3200m.
That’s good form to have and he should give punters a good sight.
Race 8. (16:07) Sky Racing Tattersalls Mile (1600m)
#10 – Awake The Stars @ $7.50 – Bet Now
Awake The Stars is paying nice odds for this after running second at Doomben last start behind Gold Ambition.
The form out of that race should stack up nicely and staying down in the weights at 54kg is going to make her tough to hold out here.
Robbie Fradd rides and he’s a strong rider to have in the saddle.
Race 9. (16:43) Greg Martin Handicap (1600m)
#7 – Trevelyan @ $6 – Bet Now
Trevelyan comes into this with consecutive third placings and a good chance of improving enough to win this.
The Meagher-trained runner looked good winning his first two starts before rising in opposition and running well enough.
$6 makes it worth the risk and he should get a nice drag into this race.
