Eagle Farm horse racing tips & form
Race 1. (12:33) Tab Long May We Play Maiden (1000m)
#4 – Tayella – Bet Now
Tayella is on debut and she doesn’t face a very tough field here. The Team Edmonds-trained three-year-old has placed in two trials to date and she hasn’t been asked for much.
It’s good to see Robbie Fradd in the saddle and betting will be a good indication for this race. We are expecting plenty of money to come her way and she could start as an odds-on runner.
Race 2. (13:08) Alcyone Hotel Residences C2 (1300m)
#1 – Stylish Saga – Bet Now
Chris Anderson lines up the four-year-old gelding that faces a drop in class here after taking on Saturday-class opposition.
The son of Real Saga finished behind the likes of Plenty and Shijin earlier this season and that form stacks up nicely.
The inside draw is ideal and Brad Stewart takes the ride.
Race 3. (13:43) BRC Memberships Renewal C2 (1300m)
#3 – Coco Fashion – Bet Now
Coco Fashion rarely runs a bad race and she shouldn’t be too far away from them here. The Chris Munce-trained mare has finished in the money in nine of her 13 starts, which is a good record.
She is a daughter of Red Dazzler that is having her first start on this track, but the wide-open Eagle Farm should suit.
Having a strong rider in Mark du Plessis in the saddle helps so expect a nice effort.
Race 4. (14:18) The Village Kitchen Ascot Maiden (1400m)
#1 – Blitzen Pasture – Bet Now
Blitzen Pasture is getting closer to a win after consecutive placings. The three-year-old gelding ran second at Doomben last start, which followed a third placing at Ipswich.
The son of Husson is going to get every chance from an inside barrier and having Jim Byrne in the saddle only helps his chances.
Expect the Robert Heathcote-trained runner to be right around the thick of the action.
Race 5. (14:53) Gallopers Sports Club C2 (1600m)
#2 – Playthefield – Bet Now
Playthefield was too good for them last time out at Sunshine Coast and he is capable of producing consecutive wins.
The three-year-old by Sepoy won by a half-length after settling well off the pace and that turn-of-foot will win him many more races.
He is yet to win from two starts at Eagle Farm but the confidence is up now so consider.
Race 6. (15:28) Your Track Awaits C5 (1000m)
#5 – Qiji Phoenix – Bet Now
Qiji Phoenix isn’t the most consistent performer going around but the five-year-old is bred to run quickly.
The son of Not a Single Doubt is a four-time winner from 16 starts and he is a two-time winner fresh up. He finds form quickly in the campaign and that bodes well for a good run.
Three placings have come at Eagle Farm and despite carrying a big weight, he should be tough to beat.
Race 7. (16:03) Bneraces BM72 (1200m)
#2 – Bugalugs – Bet Now
Shooting for three consecutive wins is Bugalugs, which scored wins at Casino and Grafton leading into this race.
The four-year-old gelding won by 4.8 lengths at Casino and although that came against weaker opposition, it was a dominant effort.
He led throughout to win by a half-length last start, so watch for good barrier speed once again.
Race 8. (16:38) Tab Long May We Play BM72 (1200m)
#4 – Winning Shot – Bet Now
Winning Shot has turned her form around nicely and the three-year-old filly should go close again.
She won at Sunshine Coast two back and followed that up with a second placing behind Leroytheconqueror. There is plenty to like about that form and she is a three-time winner over this distance.
Punters should be getting each-way odds on Wednesday.
