Eagle Farm horse racing tips
Race 1. (11:28) Racecourse Village BM78 (1600m)
#8 – Warset – Bet @ Sportsbet
Warset has scored two wins from his last three starts and we wouldn’t be ruling him out of contention here.
The Paul Duncan-trained six-year-old is a five-time winner overall, and although yet to race at Eagle Farm, it’s a track that should suit.
He handles all track conditions and we’re confident of his chances.
Race 2. (12:03) Ascot Childcare and Kindy BM78 (2200m)
#4 – Two Smokin Barrels – Bet @ Sportsbet
The Ben Ahrens-trained gelding relished the rise in distance when scoring at Doomben last start and he will enjoy rising to 2200m.
He scored by two lengths in a dominant display and carrying 55kg for this run is a bonus over the staying distance.
His form on dry tracks reads well and punters could get value odds again.
Race 3. (12:38) Gallopers Sports Club BM72 (1400m)
#11 – Lashoni – Bet @ Sportsbet
The Tony Gollan-trained mare comes off an impressive second placing on this track and she could go one better on Saturday.
She was only a narrow margin behind Daring Belle and she wasn’t suited by the weights, so that bodes well for this run and she is a past winner at Eagle Farm.
Ryan Maloney rides and punters should expect a tidy effort.
Race 4. (13:13) Millers Swim School Handicap (1200m)
#1 – Alpine Edge – Bet @ Sportsbet
Barrier 13 isn’t going to help over this distance, but Alpine Edge has a touch of class and we expect a nice effort.
The Edmonds-trained two-year-old won his first two starts before running seventh behind Anamoe at Randwick, which bodes well for this level of racing.
3kg comes off his back and he should be tough to beat with luck.
Race 5. (13:48) Tab Venue Mode Handicap (1300m)
#5 – Jetty – Bet @ Sportsbet
Jetty is getting close to scoring an overdue win and he went well at Eagle Farm behind Mob Buster last time out.
He has been expensive for win punters, but the three-year-old is firmly knocking on the door and barrier two puts him right into the frame.
Punters typically get value odds with Jetty.
Race 6. (14:23) Sky Racing C3 Plate (1800m)
#8 – Mob Buster – Bet @ Sportsbet
Mob Buster owns three wins from 10 starts and he was too good for a quality field at Eagle Farm earlier this month.
The Melissa Taylor-trained gelding has yet to miss a win or placing in five starts this campaign and that’s an excellent level of consistency.
It could pay to follow any positive betting moves.
Race 7. (15:02) Mt Franklin C6 Handicap (1200m)
#7 – Triple Ace @ $2.70 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Triple Ace is the deserved favourite following two placings this preparation and he should be tough to hold out.
He owns four wins and five placings from nine starts, so he has yet to miss a placing and his third placing at Rosehill is an excellent form guide.
Punters should be confident and the $2.70 might not last long.
Race 8. (15:42) James Squire Handicap (1400m)
#6 – Matowi @ $4.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Matowi hasn’t won for some time, but the five-year-old gelding comes off a tidy second placing and that bodes well.
The son of Ocean Park is a professional six-time winner and he has placed in both starts over this distance, so conditions are ideal.
Carrying 54.5kg is a steal for a runner of his ability, so put him on top.
Race 9. (16:22) Country Music Raceday Handicap (1300m)
#1 – Eloquently @ $3.30 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Eloquently sprouted wings to upset Miami Fleiss last week, which made it five consecutive victories for the three-year-old filly.
She is in excellent form and she is unbeaten on good tracks from three attempts, so conditions suit and she could add another win to her record.
$3.30 shouldn’t last long, so get the odds available.
