Eagle Farm horse racing tips
Race 1. (11:29) Nova 106.9 Oxlade Stakes (1200m)
#8 – Maotai @ $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Kacy Fogden lines up the two-year-old colt that scored by 5.3 lengths on debut at Ipswich and that form stacks up well at Eagle Farm.
The son of Not a Single Doubt has since won a trial at Gold Coast and there is plenty of hype around this runner.
It could pay to watch late betting moves.
Race 2. (12:04) Radiotab The Wayne Wilson (1600m)
#5 – Delphi @ $5.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Delphi comes from Europe with four consecutive wins and although they came over longer distances, we’re not ruling him out.
The four-year-old son of Galileo ran second in a recent trial at Sunshine Coast, which is a fantastic look-in to his form over shorter distances.
He’s smart and he could put this field to bed.
Race 3. (12:39) James Squire Gunsynd Classic (1600m)
#2 – Aryton @ $1.75 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Aryton was beaten last time out for the first time, but take nothing away from the performance.
The talented sprinter owns three wins from four starts and he is still learning the trade, so he should be tough to beat in this field.
The inside draw is ideal and James McDonald takes over the riding, which is only going to help his chances of success.
Race 4. (13:14) Lexus Brisbane Cup (3200m)
#4 – Knights Order @ $3.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Knights Order was too tough for them at Rosehill last week and he’s capable of going back-to-back in the small field.
The six-year-old son of So You Think owns six wins from 16 starts and he makes his own luck at the front of the pack.
55.5kg is ideal and we expect the $3.50 odds to shorten throughout the week.
Race 6. (14:33) Jim Beam Black Hinkler Handicap (1200m)
#9 – Garibaldi @ $3.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The Tony Gollan-trained four-year-old comes off a solid fourth at Doomben and he’s talented at best.
He is a professional five-time winner that couldn’t chase them down last time out, but he didn’t get the best trip in transit.
The son of I Am Invincible is a two-time winner on the track and punters should enjoy the $3.40 odds. That’s a value price for a slick sprinter.
Race 9. (16:29) Magic Millions Dane Ripper Stakes (1300m)
#7 – Coventina Bay @ $7.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Coventina Bay is a New Zealand mare that owns eight wins from 14 starts and she shouldn’t be overlooked against this level of opposition.
The daughter of Shamexpress comes off a second placing at Group 1 level behind Avantage and that’s stellar form for this race.
She handles all track conditions and punters get $7.50, which is a price well worth taking in the final race of the day.
