Race 1. (12:18) Tab Handicap (1400m)
#3 – Sizzling Babe @ $2.40 – Bet Now
Huge drifter on track last time out but she defied that to win by 3.5 lengths. She opened at around $1.40 and started at $2.25 after a big push for numerous other runners in the field.
She got back during the run but made up plenty of ground in the straight to score an easy win and she could repeat that effort here.
$2.40 is a good price from bookmakers.
Race 2. (12:57) Tab Handicap (2200m)
#2 – Mullaghmore @ $2.80 – Bet Now
Big effort to run second last start at Eagle Farm and he has another win on the horizon. The three-year-old gelding has only one win from seven starts but he has form behind some nice types throughout his career.
This race is there for the taking and although there is support for Tatcee, he looks to have more upside than most here.
Race 3. (13:37) Prostate Cancer Australia BM70 (1500m)
#13 – Francisca @ $5 – Bet Now
Will reward punters sooner or later after three solid runs this campaign. She’s a mare which has won three from 15 and although beaten as the favourite her last two, those runs haven’t been all too bad.
Better odds on offer this time around and her chances typically increase with a bigger field. The 24 runners accepted helps with that.
Race 4. (14:17) TAB Jewel (1200m)
#1 – Mishani Hustler @ $3.40 – Bet Now
Did the job nicely last time out and he’s a six-time winner from only 10 starts. That bodes well for this and despite drawing wide, he doesn’t usually need much luck to win his races.
Trainer Ben Currie is a bit of hot water and a win here from the three-year-old colt could ease that somewhat.
Race 5. (15:00) Tab Handicap (1000m)
#14 – Uzmanov @ $2.80 – Bet Now
Toby Edmonds lines up the Choisir colt which won by two lengths on debut at Ipswich before running fourth at Sunshine Coast.
He was only a half-length behind the winner on that occasion and he has since recorded a trial win at Gold Coast.
Not an easy field here but he’s worth including.
Race 6. (15:42) Brisbane Racing Carnival Handicap (1000m)
#3 – Mr Marbellouz @ $1.90 – Bet Now
Winner of seven from 12 starts and we’re not surprised to see his opening quote of $2.60 get hammered into an odds-on price.
The country-based five-year-old has been scoring with ease and comes into this with a 3.3-length win at Doomben under his belt.
This is by far his biggest test to date but he looks a type which will go through the grades and he should go well again.
Race 7. (16:18) Tab BM80 (1800m)
#3 – Get Stuck In @ $2.70 – Bet Now
Has been beating some nice types this campaign and is looking to score his fourth win on the bounce here.
The Tony Gollan-trained four-year-old has now extended his record to five wins from nine starts and given the ease of his win at Eagle Farm last start, it won’t be his last.
Wide draw but with luck, he’s right in the mix.
Race 8. (16:53) Tab Handicap (1500m)
#2 – Order Again @ $4.20 – Bet Now
Fourth behind Tumbler last time out but he rarely runs well fresh up and his record with a run under the belt is more impressive.
He has won and placed in three of his four second-up starts, which bodes well for this and his best form would see him put lengths on this field.
Stick with him as he will get a good run from barrier five.
Race 9. (17:30) Jim Beam Black Carnival Ball C6 (1200m)
#9 – Spin @ $4.20 – Bet Now
Nice odds for a Sydney-trained gelding which has form behind Fiesta, Encryption and El Dorado Dreaming.
He will run against inferior opposition here in the hopes to see a return to form, which saw him win his maiden at Kembla Grange by 3.8 lengths last August.
Not the hardest field to beat here and the odds are appealing.
