We have expert betting tips for the card this Saturday at Eagle Farm that features nine quality betting races.
The Brisbane Winter Carnival continues with the Doomben 10,000 and we have our best value bets for every race on the card.
Eagle Farm horse racing tips
Race 1. (11:48) Tab C3 Plate (1000m)
#10 – Boomnova @ $4.20 – Bet @ Neds
Boomnova looked good when winning at Eagle Farm fresh up and a repeat of that effort sees her winning again.
The four-year-old mare is unbeaten on the track and she handles rain-affected surfaces, so there’s no reason why she can’t win again.
Carrying 54kg brings her into contention.
Race 2. (12:23) Channel 7 Members’ Handicap (1600m)
#8 – Diamil @ $4 – Bet @ Neds
Diamil didn’t fire at Gosford last time out but he gets different conditions here and it could pay off.
The John O’Shea-trained four-year-old is a two-time winner at the distance and carrying 54kg makes him tough to bet against.
We’re happy with the odds and punters should expect his odds to shorten.
Race 3. (12:58) JRA Chairman’s Handicap (2143m)
#1 – Yonkers @ $5.50 – Bet @ Neds
Yonkers is a nine-time winner from 37 starts and the Chris Waller-trained runner is well worth including.
The six-year-old gelding comes out of some tough races in Melbourne and Sydney, so he should enjoy racing at Eagle Farm.
Carrying a big weight won’t make it easy but we’re confident and the odds appeal.
Race 4. (13:33) Stradbroke Calcutta Plate (1400m)
#10 – Startantes @ $3 – Bet @ Neds
Startantes has been facing excellent fields and the three-year-old filly should find this more to her liking.
The Robert Heathcote-trained filly has finished behind the likes of Count De Rupee, Hinged and Niedorp at her last three starts.
It’s hot form and we’re not surprised by the odds.
Race 5. (14:08) Spirit of Boom Classic (1200m)
#3 – Capital Tower @ $4.20 – Bet @ Neds
Capital Tower is unbeaten after three starts and it’s always exciting to bet on an unbeaten runner.
The two-year-old colt won by a length at Toowoomba last time out and his 1.8-length win Doomben is the best form guide.
This is a hot field, but he’s exciting and the odds appeal.
Race 6. (14:43) Magic Millions Bright Shadow (1200m)
#1 – Babylon Berlin @ $4.80 – Bet @ Neds
The Kiwi runners are always tough to beat in Queensland and Babylon Berlin is a quality sprinter.
She is a six-time winner and eight-time placegetter from 15 starts, so she’s never too far away and her stats over this distance read well.
She owns good barrier speed and having James McDonald in the saddle could make the difference.
Race 7. (15:22) Drinkwise Rough Habit Plate (2143m)
#3 – Dark Destroyer @ $7.50 – Bet @ Neds
Dark Destroyer was a touch unlucky not to win at Eagle Farm last start and we’re sticking with the Kiwi runner.
He finished second behind Character, who is paying much shorter odds and there wasn’t much between them at the line.
The Kiwis are coming and we think Dark Destroyer has every chance to win.
Race 9. (16:38) Bundaberg Rum BM85 (1400m)
#13 – Flexible @ $7.50 – Bet @ Neds
Flexible goes well fresh up and the James Cummings-trained mare should be right around the mark.
She won at Sandown fresh up last campaign and she has been primed with two trial efforts, so she looks ready to go.
Getting into this race with only 55.5kg on her back helps and punters get each-way odds worth taking.
