Eagle Farm horse racing tips & form
Race 1. (13:08) Tab Long May We Play Maiden (1400m)
#3 – Pernell – Bet Now
Pernell looks set for a win following his second placing at Gold Coast last time out. The three-year-old colt ran a half-head behind Magic Conqueror, which is good form for this race.
He didn’t show much at his first two starts but he faced tough fields, and this is significantly easier.
Expect plenty of money to come his way on race day.
Race 2. (13:43) BRC Like Nowhere Else C3 Handicap (1845m)
#1 – Slow Hands – Bet Now
Slow Hands has the clear class edge over this field and he should be tough to hold out. The Kelly Schweida-trained gelding ran second last start after hitting the line with good authority.
He owns six placings from nine starts at Eagle Farm and although rising in weight, he gets a 2kg apprentice claim to help.
Expect him to get back in the run and storm home late.
Race 3. (14:18) XXXX Dry BM78 (2218m)
#1 – Fastnet Cyclone – Bet Now
Money is with Fastnet Cyclone, which finished third behind Joymaker last start. The Stuart Kendrick-trained gelding has quality form leading into this race and he should be too good for them.
He finished second behind subsequent winner Cloak three starts back, and dropping in grade for this race is ideal.
Punters might have to take short odds but he should give you a good sight.
Race 4. (14:53) Gallopers Sports Club BM75 (1400m)
#3 – Buffy – Bet Now
Buffy could slay this field and punters will get each-way odds. The Kendrick-trained mare finished second at Gold Coast last start and although 3.8 lengths behind the winner, she chased hard.
The daughter of Trusting doesn’t win as often as punters would like, but she represents value on Wednesday and a win won’t be far away.
Race 5. (15:28) Mount Franklin C6 Plate (1000m)
#5 – Pizonie – Bet Now
Pizonie is gunning for back-to-back wins after scoring at Eagle Farm last start. The Tony Gollan-trained gelding defeated a similar field and he continued his good record at Eagle Farm.
He owns three wins and four placings from nine starts on this track, so his best career form happens at Eagle Farm.
Ryan Maloney takes the ride and he should ensure a good trip throughout.
Race 6. (16:03) Tab Long May We Play Maiden (1200m)
#7 – Lucky Time – Bet Now
Chris Munce lines up Lucky Time, which has four placings from six starts and she deserves a winning turn.
The five-year-old mare ran second at Lismore last start and although yet to run at Eagle Farm, the bigger track looks ideal.
Larry Cassidy rides with only 55.5kg on the back, so expect a tidy effort.
Race 7. (16:38) Souths Sports Club C2 Handicap (1200m)
#9 – Highland Son – Bet Now
Highland Son is a two-time winner from three starts and he could turn around his only defeat on this track.
The Kendrick-trained gelding scored on debut at Sunshine Coast before winning again last time out. He won by 3.8 lengths and that form stacks up beautifully for this race.
From barrier two with 55kg on his back, expect a top effort.
Race 8. (17:13) BRC Spring Carnival On Sale C1 (1000m)
#2 – Final Declaration – Bet Now
Final Declaration scored on debut at Gold Coast and although beaten last start, that run came at Group 3 level behind Hightail.
He was thrown in the deep end a little early, but he gets a good chance against this level of opposition on Wednesday
Punters should get good odds for the talented son of Exceed And Excel.
