Great day of racing this Saturday with races such as the Manfred Stakes and Chairman’s Stakes at Caulfield.
Rosehill also has a booming card with the Canonbury Stakes, Widden Stakes and Expressway Stakes among many great races.
We have form and free tips for the best races this Saturday at Caulfield and Rosehill.
Caulfield free tips & form
Race 3. (13:45) John Moule BM84 (1400m)
#2 – Naantali @ $3.10 – BET NOW
Naantali hasn’t won this campaign but she went close when second at Flemington last time out and she looks a good chance to go close again.
The Maher/Eustace-trained four-year-old is a four-time winner from 13 starts which has two placings from three starts on this track.
$3.10 is a fair price from bookmakers and we’re expecting punters to climb into that late.
Race 4. (14:20) Ladbrokes BM84 (2000m)
#3 – Schabau @ $1.95 – BET NOW
Former German runner Schabau had the class on his rivals last start and although second-up syndrome is a factor, he looks too good for them again.
Robert Hickmott has a long history of lining up impressive stayers and although he’s not with Macedon Lodge anymore, he looks to have another tidy stayer on his hands.
Opened at $2.25 and has been heavily-backed into $1.90 but we wouldn’t go much shorter than that.
Race 5. (14:55) Ladbrokes Chairman’s Stakes (1000m)
#5 – Art Collection @ $4.20 – BET NOW
Looks a nice mare in the making and she didn’t lose any admirers when running second on debut during the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
The well-bred daughter of Fastnet Rock ran only a nose behind the winner and she didn’t jump overly well after drifting late in the betting.
More support here with only 54kg on her back and Craig Williams takes over the riding.
Race 6. (15:30) Blue Star Print BM84 (1600m)
#9 – Mount Kilcoy @ $3.70 – BET NOW
Ran sixth two weeks back but was making good headway in the straight and that’s a positive sign for this.
The Weir-trained four-year-old was a brilliant two-length winner at Caulfield last spring and any form close to that sees him winning this.
He looks a stallion in the making and he just needs to start rising through the grades to get that value up.
Race 8. (16:50) Ladbrokes Manfred Stakes (1200m)
#10 – Tin Hat @ $3.40 – BET NOW
Already up and running and a few of these will need the run. The James Cummings-trained three-year-old faces a rise in class after winning back-to-back races at Sandown but they came impressively.
He scored by 2.3 lengths two back and he defeated the well-liked Bravo Tango last time out by just under a length.
That’s strong form and although we’re not thrilled with his odds, we’ll take them.

Race 1. (12:50) Canonbury Stakes (1100m)
#7 – Mclaren @ $1.75 – BET NOW
On debut and his name suggests he has plenty of toe. The two-year-old colt by Exceed And Excel is on debut for Peter and Paul Snowden after demolishing his opposition in a trial by 6.8 lengths.
That backed up two other solid trial wins and as far as runners on debut go, he’s pretty exciting and we’re not surprised to see such a short quote.
Race 3. (14:05) Tab Highway C3 Plate (1500m)
#9 – La Scopa @ $1.75 – BET NOW
Another short-priced favourite but another likely winner. The Matthew Dunn-trained mare cruised home by two lengths against similar opposition last start and there should be a repeat on the cards.
Dunn knows how to get a Highway horse ready and this mare by Show A Heart has always shown ability to be better than this grade.
Gets another great chance to win in the Highway and her price shouldn’t drift.
Race 4. (14:40) Countdown To Slipper BM72 (1400m)
#1 – Ljungberg @ $3 – BET NOW
Loomed to win last start but was out-fought by Vegadaze, who had the better run in transit after Kerrin McEvoy had Ljungberg out three-wide the trip.
With a better ride from Andrew Adkins, we think the three-year-old gelding will be too good for this field and drawing the inside barrier should ensure a dream trip throughout.
$3 is a good price for the best horse in the race.
Race 6. (15:50) Expressway Stakes (1200m)
#6 – Alizee @ $1.90 – BET NOW
James Cummings lines up the impressive last-start winner which cruised home against inferior opposition in the Xmas Classic but now faces some smart types.
In her favour here is the light weight of 56.5kg, which isn’t bad considering she has won more than $1.4 million in stake money.
She is a classy mare which has yet to win at Rosehill but that could all change this Saturday.
Race 7. (16:30) Events By ATC BM88 (1500m)
#9 – Girl Tuesday @ $3.60 – BET NOW
Looked the goods when winning all four starts last campaign and although those wins came against relatively weak opposition, there’s no reason to jump off her back.
She has drifted from $3.40 to $3.60 after drawing barrier 11 but she’s capable of finding a good position in the field and hitting the line with some serious power.
This is a good field but there are no superstars and she’s entitled to start the favourite.
