It was a terrific Saturday of racing at Caulfield and Rosehill, which saw the running of three Group 1 races.
Rosehill is back this Wednesday with an eight-race card which is set to bring February to a close in style.
Bendigo also hosts a quality betting card and there’s some great value on offer for punters of all levels.

Rosehill free tips & form
Race 1. (13:25) Casino Prince @ Vinery Maiden (1100m)
#11 – Wagner @ $2.10 – BET NOW
The James Cummings stable has been on fire with their juveniles of late and Wagner looks a nice type in the making.
A multiple trials winner, the son of Bernadini was a 2.8-length winner at Randwick before only narrowly winning last start but the experience will hold him in good stead.
There was plenty of money invested in the early markets and he has since drifted a touch, but he should prove tough to beat on debut.
Race 2. (14:00) Tab Maiden Handicap (1100m)
#1 – Terminology @ $3.60 – BET NOW
Form behind Sunlight is big at the midweek level and Terminology has that in spades.
The Waterhouse/Bott-trained filly finished second behind the Magic Millions winner last start and although she was 4.5 lengths behind the star filly, she has since won a trial impressively.
We thought she would be much shorter in the market and there are some nicely bred debutantes in this field, but the $3.60 is good value and she’s the best horse in the race.
Race 3. (14:35) Theraces BM71 (1800m)
#3 – Condor @ $3.10 – BET NOW
Condor is a classy type which had to race against some of the best types in Sydney before breaking through last start.
The Paul Perry-trained three-year-old placed in behind the likes of Hualalai, Rockin’ Ruga and Siege of Quebec before scoring by a length at Canterbury last month.
He carried 59.5kg on that occasion and he drops in weight for this which is ideal.
The rise in distance is the only concern but he is the class of the race and should be too tough to beat.
Race 6. (16:30) Tab Rewards BM75 (1500m)
#4– Kaonic @ $3.70 – BET NOW
Kaonic was disappointing fresh up as a drifter in the market, but he was having his first run in four months and he pulled up lame.
The son of Savabeel is classy at best and he looked good when winning consecutive races in Sydney last October.
Rising in distance should help his chances and he’s drawn to get all favours from the inside barrier.
He is drifting a touch in the market which is concerning but stick with the class factor.
Race 7. (17:05) Australian Turf Club (1300m)
#1– Sanctioned @ $5.50 – BET NOW
Sanctioned might more time to show his true potential, but he has more ability than most of these.
The Cummings-trained gelding finished seventh behind Aloisia last time out and prior to that he was close behind the likes of Derby winner Ace High and Gold Standard.
There’s no doubting that a win won’t be far away and he might amble up to them on the turn and be too strong over the concluding stages.

Race 3. (16:45) Jayco Maiden Plate (1000m)
#11– Chateau Griffo @ $1.50 – BET NOW
Punters will have to take the short odds on offer for Chateau Griffo, but she should be too good for them.
The Robbie Griffiths-trained runner hasn’t been seen since running seventh at Sale behind Our Crown Mistress but she did look good when running second in a recent trial.
She has form behind the likes of Limestone and Crown Witness and that should stack up well in maiden grade.
Include her in multi bets.
Race 4. (17:20) Filkel Maiden Plate (1300m)
#15 – Somnium @ $5.50 – BET NOW
Lindsay Park lines up Somnium, which finished off stoutly for second at Ballarat when fresh up.
The three-year-old filly hasn’t quite showed her best so far throughout her career, but she was always going to need time to mature.
Drawing barrier seven should ensure that she gets a good run and with some luck she’ll be right in the thick of the action at an each way price.
Race 6. (18:30) My Punter BM70 (1400m)
#9 – Our Chiquilla @ $4.80 – BET NOW
Darren Weir lines up the four-year-old which was hitting the line with purpose at Sandown last time out.
She didn’t jump very well and was caught midfield for most of the race before she progressed around the outside and finished off well enough.
This will be her first start at Bendigo, but the track should suit and she looks well placed to go well again at each way odds.
Race 7. (19:00) Bendigo Mazda BM70 (1000m)
#1 – Sacred Sham @ $2.70 – BET NOW
Blocked for a run at Moonee Valley last start and that put pay to his chances quickly.
The Danny O’Brien-trained gelding won prior at Geelong by 3.3 lengths and that’s a better indication of his talent.
He carried 60.5kg on that occasion and the drop to 59.5kg with Damien Oliver in the saddle is only going to help his chances of getting back into the winners’ enclosure.
