Flemington horse racing tips
Race 1. (15:10) Flemington Event Staff Handicap (1100m)
#6 – Personal @ $4.40 – Bet Now
Personal did a few things wrong on debut but the two-year-old filly has good upside.
It was a strange ride from Damien Oliver, who settled the daughter of Fastnet Rock back before making a late run.
She’s a well-bred filly that should only improve with time and Craig Williams takes over the riding duties, which will help her chances.
Punters are getting good odds here.
Race 2. (15:50) Donate To Foodbank Vic BM84 (1720m)
#6 – Red Heeler @ $2.90 – Bet Now
Michael Kent lines up the four-year-old mare that looked good winning back-to-back races earlier this preparation.
The mare by Redwood broke maiden grades at Pakenham before winning at Sandown by a nose last December.
Her two runs since have both come on this track and that experience will do her plenty of good against this opposition.
Race 3. (16:30) Donate To Salvation Army Handicap (1100m)
#1 – Condo’s Express @ $3.20 – Bet Now
Condo’s Express is a professional type with two wins and four placings from seven starts.
The three-year-old gelding is coming off a second placing at Moonee Valley behind a nice type in the making.
He owns more class than most in this field and drawing towards the outside down the Flemington straight is the place to be.
His odds should firm come race day.
Race 4. (17:10) Donate To Equine Bushfire BM70 (2000m)
#1 – Blossom On Snow @ $2.60 – Bet Now
Unbeaten after two starts, Blossom On Snow is a nice type in the making and could remain unbeaten in this.
The three-year-old filly scored by four lengths on debut at Wangaratta before stepping up in grade and winning at Caulfield by 1.3 lengths.
She makes the rise up to 2000m and being a daughter of Sebring, she looks good enough to handle the rise.
Race 5. (17:50) Kensington Stakes (1000m)
#3 – Time To Reign @ $3.10 – Bet Now
Time To Reign is a slick sprinter that is having his first run since March last year. That came at Rosehill when running fifth in the Golden Slipper.
The son of Time For War has shown great speed throughout his career and although this isn’t an easy target first-up, he gets only 54.5kg on his back and the inside draw.
Damien Oliver rides and it could pay to follow any positive betting moves come race day.
Race 6. (18:30) Thank You Emergency Services BM84 (1400m)
#8 – Fabric @ $3.70 – Bet Now
Fabric is a proven fresh up performer with two starts for a win and a placing.
The four-year-old mare by Ocean Park has finished in the money in eight of her 11 career starts and she should run well here.
Drawing the inside barrier should be ideal and with only 55kg and Craig Williams in the saddle, she is every chance of taking this out.
Race 7. (19:00) Victorian Owner Gold Card Handicap (2520m)
#4 – High Bridge @ $2.45 – Bet Now
Punters are becoming impatient with High Bridge but the nine-year-old could get the job done here.
He’s not getting any younger but that was a nice performance for second at Flemington last start and he could go one better now.
He won’t have to do much work off the inside barrier and the eight-time winner could add to his record this Saturday.
Race 8. (19:30) Than You Firefighters BM84 (1200m)
#10 – Clarice Cliffs @ $4 – Bet Now
Greg Eurell lines up the five-year-old mare that has shown plenty of promise and is better than what she showed last start.
The daughter of Canford Cliffs finished third at Caulfield as the favourite and that came against a tough field.
This looks a little easier from the inside draw and if she gets a drag into the race, she will prove tough to beat in the run to the line.
Race 9. (20:00) Thank You Volunteers BM70 (1800m)
#4 – Skelm @ $6 – Bet Now
Skelm comes into this race with back-to-back wins and he could win again at Flemington.
The five-year-old gelding is a four-time winner overall and despite drawing barrier 20, he will have time to find cover over this distance.
He’s worth including at the odds.
