Flemington Racing Tips for Saturday, July 18th 2026

We have expert betting tips for racing at Flemington on Saturday, which includes nine races at the premier meeting.

Punters get good value odds for the Victorian meeting, and we have betting tips for every race on the card.

Race 1. (12:05) Byerley Handicap (1800m)

#1 – Ko Phangan @ $1.80

This looks like an ideal race for Ko Phangan to score an overdue win, and the odds reflect that.

The two-year-old colt by Ole Kirk has yet to win a race from six attempts, but he has finished behind the likes of Marwooba, Natural Fling, and Unit Five.

It’s handy form, so take the short odds.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 2. (12:40) Tab We’re On Handicap (1000m)

#1 – Hard Kick @ $1.95

Panchenko was a good debut winner, but we were more impressed by the debut performance from Hard Kick in February.

The two-year-old son of All Too Hard looked like a potential Slipper fancy before spelling, following a 2.8-length win at Flemington over Zambales.

That form has been franked, and he could return in fine order.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 3. (13:15) RMBL Investments Rising Stars BM78 (1600m)

#3 – Changing Colours @ $5.00

Punters get each-way odds for Changing Colours, who owns three wins and eight placings from 16 starts.

The five-year-old mare by The Autumn Sun owns two placings from two starts over the mile, so she should be right in the mix.

Getting 1.5kg off her back could be enough to take her close.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 4. (13:50) ATA Trainers’ Trust Handicap (1400m)

#14 – Laura Eliza @ $3.20

Laura Eliza comes off a tidy maiden win at Sale in heavy conditions, and she looks to have above average ability.

The Michael Kent-trained filly gets right down in the weights at 53kg with Craig Williams riding, and she has been well-backed to score after opening at $4.20.

It’s a good betting move, and the money looks well-placed.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 5. (14:25) VRC Member Erica McKissack Trophy (1700m)

#13 – Zebra Finch @ $7.50

Zebra Finch is better for three runs under his belt this preparation, including a second placing at Pakenham fresh up.

The three-year-old son of Exceed and Excel wasn’t too far away at Flemington last start and getting 53.5kg could see his turn-of-foot return.

It’s an even field, so the odds are appealing.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 6. (15:05) Deane Lester Flemington Cup 1849 Handicap (2800m)

#1 – Bold Soul @ $4.60

Patrick Payne lines up Bold Soul, who has been testing punters patience this preparation, but he’s nearing a win.

The five-year-old gelding by Embellish is a three-time winner at Flemington, and although yet to win in soft conditions, he has been close.

Punters get each-way odds, so include him in picks.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 7. (15:45) VRC Member Brendan Sobozynski BM88 (1200m)

#13 – Wolfy @ $11.00

Wolfy can be a tough runner to follow, but the five-year-old son of Tivaci could score an overdue win.

He comes off a second placing at Sandown in heavy conditions, and coming back to Flemington, where he’s a two-time winner, is ideal.

Dropping to 52kg with the inside draw is enough to take him close.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 8. (16:20) VRC Member Richard John Rowlands BM100 (2000m)

#12 – Think Giant @ $3.00

A betting move has come for Think Giant, who is a former German runner who will improve with a run under his belt in Australia.

It was a solid effort for seventh at Caulfield, and rising from 1700m to 2000m will only help his chances of success.

With 53kg on his back, he should be competitive against this field.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 9. (16:52) VRC Member Andrew Bostock BM78 (1000m)

#13 – Next Step Iowa @ $3.90

Next Step Iowa was beaten last time out, but it was a tidy effort for third, and she could bounce back in a big way.

The four-year-old mare by Brazen Beau kicked off her prep with back-to-back wins, and she is another runner getting in with a light weight.

Williams could have a big day in the saddle, so include her in picks.

Stake: 1 Unit
