Flemington racing tips

Race 1. (11:55) Tab We’re On BM84 (2520m)

#7 – Muktamil @ $3.40

Money has come for Muktamil, who won well at Ballarat four back and he has since placed at The Valley and Sandown.

The five-year-old doesn’t face an overly tough field in the opener, so he could take advantage on Saturday.

Getting in with 54kg should make him tough to beat.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 2. (12:25) Brendan Drechsler Handicap (1100m)

#2 – Miss Ole @ $2.40

Seeking back-to-back wins is Miss Ole, who scored by just under a length at Sandown last time out.

The two-year-old filly by Ole Kirk had good betting support, and although she looked beaten, she rallied hard late to pick up Saluted.

She has talent, and the long Flemington straight only helps her chances.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 3. (13:00) Country Racing as Real as it Gets BM78 (1400m)

#6 – Stylish @ $5.50

The less said about the ride on Stylish last start the better, so punters should stick with the four-year-old mare.

She was given no chance to win at Caulfield behind Trial by Press, but she still found the line impressively late in the race.

A bounce back is likely, and punters get better odds than expected.

Stake: 3 Units

Race 4. (13:35) Country Racing Victoria Sprint (1100m)

#6 – One Hard Lady @ $7.00

Looking to bounce back from her first career defeat is One Hard Lady, who finished a gallant second behind Madame Maserati at Flemington.

It was a good effort in defeat for the runner with wins at Albury and Gunnedah, and it showed that she’s good enough for this level of racing.

Getting in with 54kg should make her tough to beat.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 5. (14:10) Vobis Gold Mile (1600m)

#5 – Oh Too Good @ $2.60

Oh Too Good has been backed and beaten twice this campaign, but she’s far too good to leave out of calculations.

The current favourite finished fourth at Sandown behind Hughes, and that’s a strong form race for this level of racing.

She could be too good for them on Saturday, and the $2.60 odds are worth including in horse racing multi picks.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 6. (14:45) Darren Galley Mile (1600m)

#4 – Snoopy Now @ $10.00

We enjoyed the $2.60 odds with Snoopy Now winning at Murray Bridge two weeks ago, and getting $10 odds is even better.

The three-year-old raced at Group 1 level two starts back, so there’s nothing wrong with that form for this level of racing.

Take the double-figure odds available with bookmakers.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 7. (15:20) Country Achiever Eric Musgrove BM100 (2000m)

#13 – Liberami @ $2.70

Gunning for three consecutive wins is Liberami, who scored at Sandown before winning at Flemington by 1.3 lengths.

The four-year-old son of Turn Me Loose is turning into a smart customer, and he doesn’t need to improve too much to handle this field.

He gets in with a light weight again, which is a bonus.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 8. (16:00) Country Racing It’s Got It All Trophy (2000m)

#10 – Kiss My Rock @ $21.00

Punters get value odds for Kiss My Rock, who might be rising in class, but he doesn’t know how to run a bad race.

The three-year-old son of El Roca owns a win and six placings from 10 starts, and he’s good enough to handle this field.

Carrying 54kg makes it slightly easier.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 9. (16:34) VRC Country Race Day BM84 (1200m)

#12 – Pivot City @ $3.60

Pivot City deserves another chance despite running 10th at Caulfield last start, and he didn’t get much luck behind runners.

The son of Not a Single Doubt looked good when winning at Flemington earlier this prep, and he should get clear air running down the straight.

He’s the one to beat, so include him in picks.

Stake: 1.5 Units
