Flemington horse racing tips
Race 1. (12:20) TBV Thoroughbred Breeders’ Stakes (1200m)
#3 – La Rocque @ $1.75 – Bet @ Sportsbet
La Rocque was an impressive 1.8-length winner on debut and she could remain unbeaten on Saturday.
The two-year-old filly looked good at the trials prior to that when beating Tycoon Humma, which is unbeaten after two starts.
The form stacks up nicely and we’re not surprised by the short odds available.
Race 2. (12:55) Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour (1400m)
#5 – Cumberpatch @ $4.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Cumberpatch didn’t lose any admirers when running second at Sandown last start and he has plenty of improvement to come.
The Price/Kent-trained son of I Am Invincible has yet to finish worse than second at this distance and he shows good tactical pace.
His opening odds of $5.50 have been taken and expect more money to come.
Race 3. (13:30) Furphy Ale March Stakes (1400m)
#5 – Odeum @ $2.10 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Odeum is a classy Group 1 winner that resumes for her autumn campaign. The three-year-old filly was beaten a nose by Shout The Bar last start, which is excellent form.
Running over 1400m is the only concern, but she won her only start over 1400m, so he should be ready to fire.
The inside draw and 54.5kg on her back makes her very tough to hold out.
Race 4. (14:05) Mss Security Sires’ Produce (1400m)
#2 – Paulele @ $4.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Paulele scored back-to-back wins to open his career before having excuses when running sixth at Rosehill.
The James Cummings-trained two-year-old didn’t entirely handle the soft track conditions, but the track should be ideal on Saturday.
Punters get value odds and having Oliver in the saddle is a bonus.
Race 5. (14:45) Incognitus Stakes (1100m)
#2 – Oxley Road @ $3 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The three-year-old colt kicked away for an easy win at Caulfield last start and he could remain unbeaten from three starts.
He is a nicely-bred son of Exceed and Excel that has now won at Flemington and Caulfield, so he’s experienced at city tracks.
The $3 is a fair price from bookmakers and we’re expecting another tidy effort.
Race 7. (16:05) Lexus Morton Stakes (1600m)
#2 – Silent Sovereign @ $5.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Value odds are with Silent Sovereign, which scored a narrow win at Caulfield two starts back. She followed that up with a fourth at Flemington, which wasn’t a bad effort.
The mare by Dalakhani has yet to fully fire in three attempts at Flemington, but it’s only a matter of time before she puts it all together.
Barrier five is ideal and she has upside.
Race 9. (17:20) Tab Kewney Stakes (1600m)
#1 – Personal @ $2.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Personal comes off a second placing behind Zou Dancer and that form has stacked up brilliantly since.
The three-year-old filly owns two wins and six placings from 10 starts, so she is rarely out of the money and we’re expecting the same this time around.
It’s another quality ride for Damien Oliver and the Lindsay Park-trained runner should prove tough to beat in the last race of the day.
