Flemington Racing Tips for Saturday, May 16th 2026

We have expert betting tips for racing at Flemington on Saturday, which includes nine races at the premier meeting.

Punters get good value odds for the Victorian meeting, and we have betting tips for every race on the card.

Race 1. (11:55) Tab We’re On Handicap (1400m)

#1 – Resonant @ $3.30

Looking to go one better than his debut placing at Bendigo is Resonant, who was only a half-length behind the winner.

The two-year-old colt by Spirit of Boom will need a touch of luck from the wide draw, but he could get a nice drag into the race.

The rise to 1400m should be up his alley, so include as the favourite.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 2. (12:30) Trevor Clarke Handicap (2000m)

#1 – Different Gravy @ $6.50

Different Gravy showed improvement when running fourth last time out, and he looks ready to run a good race.

The three-year-old gelding showed his ability last spring when winning during the carnival, and this field is there for the taking.

Money has come for him, so take the $6.50 odds.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 3. (13:05) Sir Eugene Gorman BM78 (1400m)

#9 – Jazz Affair @ $17.00

Punters get value odds for Jazz Affair, who is better than what her form suggests this preparation.

The six-year-old mare has only one placing from seven attempts at Flemington, but she should enjoy the roomier track, so it’s an odd statistics.

Craig Williams is riding well, which adds to her appeal.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 4. (13:40) K. A. Morrison Handicap (1400m)

#7 – Concord Connie @ $1.35

The odds are extremely skinny, but after a devastating win at Flemington last start, she is a good multi bet inclusion.

She could be a filly out of the top drawer after showing an elite turn-of-foot to win by six lengths in BM70 grade. It was an incredible win, and we’re hoping she backs it up.

Her odds are too short but boost your multi bets by including her in picks.

Stake: 4 Units

Race 5. (14:15) Sharp EIT Sir Henry Bolte Handicap (1200m)

#1 – Bacash @ $19.00

Drawing wide down the straight isn’t the worst place to be, and he could be the forgotten runner in the field.

The three-year-old owns three wins and seven placings from 14 starts, including three placings at Flemington from only four attempts.

1.5kg comes off his back, so take the each-way odds.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 6. (14:50) L. V. Lachal BM100 (1600m)

#1 – Zahrann @ $6.50

Zahrann is having his first start in Australia after posting three wins and two placings from six starts in Europe.

The four-year-old son of Night of Thunder could mature into a cups horse, and he looked good when winning a trial at Caulfield over 1500m.

Punters should expect a nice Australian debut.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 7. (15:30) Lexus Andrew Ramsden Plate (2800m)

#9 – The Western Front @ $7.00

The Western Front has matured this preparation after scoring three wins from his last four starts, including a tough win at Flemington last start.

He scored by two lengths when cruising by them in the straight and rising to 2800m only helps his chances of more success.

It’s a tough field, but he can’t be left out of horse racing picks

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 8. (16:10) Hilton Nicholas Tab Straight Six (1200m)

#13 – Immortal Star @ $12.00

There isn’t much between most runners in this field, so we’re backing Immortal Star to run a good race.

The Ciaron Maher-trained mare ran second at Warrnambool last time out, and she runs well at Flemington with a win and two placings.

54kg on her back is enough to take her close.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 9. (16:43) Murray Cox BM84 (1800m)

#11 – Mr Blunt @ $2.50

Mr Blunt showed that he’s not just a synthetic merchant when scoring at Flemington and rising to 1800m showcased his best form.

The four-year-old son of Grunt looked good early on when winning at Ballarat Synthetic, and he might have just needed time to adjust to grass tracks.

The $2.50 odds are worth including in horse racing picks.

Stake: 2 Units
