Flemington free tips & form
Race 1. (12:30) Very Special Kids Pin & Win (2500m)
#5 – Alfarris @ $9 – Bet Now
We’re sticking with Alfarris after running third at Caulfield last start. The Lindsay Park-trained five-year-old is a five-time winner which could turn his form around.
This field is wide-open and we’re not comfortable taking the $3 with the favourite, so we’ll take the $9 for the consistent Alfarris.
He usually gives punters a good sight and carrying only 55.5kg helps.
Race 2. (13:05) Cap D’Antibes Stakes (1100m)
#2 – Absolute Flirt @ $4.60 – Bet Now
Danny O’Brien lines up the three-year-old filly which ran second behind Exhilarates last start and that form should stack up.
She has finished out of the money in only one of her seven career starts and that consistency has rewarded punters to date.
Damien Oliver takes the ride from barrier two and we should see some solid support come for Absolute Flirt come race day.
Race 3. (13:40) Antler Luggage Exford Plate (1400m)
#3 – Roccabascerana @ $4.80 – Bet Now
It may be tough to pronounce but Roccabascerana has winning claims here after some very good form in Adelaide.
The David Jolly-trained gelding scored on debut by 6.5 lengths before backing that up with a 3.3-length win at Morphettville last start.
He has taken on only nine runners combined from two starts, but he looks a good type in the making and could handle this hot field.
Watch the market for late betting moves.
Race 4. (14:15) The Sofitel (1400m)
#14 – Tarwin @ $6.50 – Bet Now
Tarwin is a capable type which still has room for improvement. The Mick Kent-trained four-year-old has won three of his four starts and they have come impressively.
The son of Americain scored a quality win at Caulfield last start when coming from last with a huge turn-of-foot. Wins like that will hold him in good stead this spring.
Talented type in the making and the $6.50 is a fair price given that he carries only 54kg on his back.
Race 5. (14:50) Danehill Stakes (1200m)
#5 – Dalasan @ $3.40 – Bet Now
It’s tough to overlook the form of Dalasan, given that he defeated subsequent Group 1 winner Scales of Justice last start.
The three-year-old did have a massive weight advantage, but it was still a good showing and his only defeat from four starts came behind La Tene at Flemington.
He was defeated only by a neck and he settled well-back throughout that run. He could be unbeaten and should be held in high esteem for this race.
Race 6. (15:30) Let’s Elope Stakes (1400m)
#9 – Fidelia @ $4 – Bet Now
That was a nice resuming run from Fidelia, which finished off nicely for fifth last time out.
The Robbie Griffiths-trained four-year-old has scored five wins from 10 starts and she gets into this race nicely with only 55kg on her back.
Not an easy field to beat but there should be strong money placed come race day so it could pay to take the odds on offer.
Race 8. (16:50) Bobbie Lewis Quality (1200m)
#11 – Demarara @ $5.50 – Bet Now
Demarara is a past winner at Flemington and having experience running down the straight is important.
The James Cummings-trained mare is a winner of seven from 14 starts and with only 53kg on her back, she will be a dangerous threat here.
Craig Williams rides and her ridiculous opening odds of $8.50 have been taken.
Race 9. (17:25) Vale Russell Cameron Handicap (1700m)
#6 – Captain Cook @ $4.20 – Bet Now
Captain Cook improved nicely to run second at Caulfield last start and a win doesn’t seem to be far away.
He’s an imported runner for Chris Waller which had good form in Europe and it’s only a matter of time before he wins in Australia.
His opening odds of $4.80 have been taken so watch for further betting moves.
