Friday horse racing tips

Race 1. (13:00) Cervus Maiden Plate (1500m)

#7 – The Duke of Hazard @ $2.25 – Bet Now

Punters should always take notice when David Brideoake-trained runners are well-backed in betting markets.

The four-year-old gelding is coming off a second placing at Pakenham and he should be tough to beat against this level of opposition.

$2.25 is a fair price from bookmakers and he could firm into an odds-on quote come race day.

Race 2. (13:30) Suez Maiden Plate (1400m)

#9 – Dress @ $2.70 – Bet Now

The Maher/Eustace-trained filly is having her second start on this track and she did better than expected on debut.

She finished second at odds of $12 and she hasn’t been missed in the market this time around. The daughter of Kingman opened at $3.10 and has firmed steadily throughout the week.

That is a good sign and she won’t take long to break maiden grades.

Race 5. (15:00) Porter Plant BM78 (1100m)

#4 – Our Wind Spirit @ $2.80 – Bet Now

Our Wind Spirit didn’t fire against tough opposition at Flemington last start but he is much better suited on the synthetic surface.

The five-year-old is unbeaten on this track from three attempts and returning to this surface is an ideal situation.

Punters should forgive his most recent effort and take the odds on offer.

Race 7. (16:00) Sportsbet’s Footy Fill Up BM64 (1500m)

#3 – Sensitivity @ $3.70 – Bet Now

Sensitivity is another runner eager to get back to synthetic racing after disappointing at Morphettville last time out.

The Maher/Eustace-trained mare finished last and 11.8 lengths behind the winner. It was a poor effort but she is better than that, so we’re giving her one more chance.

She owns two wins on this track and she has a four-length win to her name this preparation, so she demands respect.

Race 1. (12:35) Congrats Samantha Clenton Maiden (1000m)

#9 – Bobby’s Gift @ $3.90 – Bet Now

Bobby’s Gift is on debut for trainer Sue Grills and she could make a winning start to her career.

The three-year-old finished third in a recent trial on this track and having that experience should hold her in good stead.

Carrying 55kg is ideal and she could firm into solo favouritism.

Race 3. (13:50) Congratulations Cody Morgan Maiden (1200m)

#6 – Peroxide Blonde @ $3.80 – Bet Now

Peroxide Blonde is getting closer to a win after posting another placing last start. The five-year-old finished second at Tamworth and it was a nice effort fresh up.

The daughter of Mossman owns four placings from seven starts and she will get her chance to breakthrough from barrier two.

Punters should stick with her for another run at the odds.

Race 4. (14:25) Kosciuszko Tickets on Sale BM66 (1200m)

#10 – Yulong Base @ $3.10 – Bet Now

Yulong Base defied a late betting drift to score at Grafton last start and he looks like a type that could kick on with it.

The Cody Morgan-trained son of Scat Daddy settled back during the run and finished off best down the outside of the field.

Drawing barrier one should see him settle closer and he will be tough to beat from there.

Race 7. (16:20) Off The Track BM58 (1400m)

#10 – Stunning Mosa @ $3.90 – Bet Now

The four-year-old mare kicked off her campaign in style with a win at Scone and she could get back to that form.

She follow it up with a fourth at Taree and although beaten, she made impressive ground late and that bodes well for this race.

Punters have identified her as a leading chance and she should give punters a good sight.
