We have expert betting tips for the cards this Friday at Cranbourne and Ballina.
There is plenty of value available with bookmakers at the Friday meetings and we have our best bets across the cards.
Race 1. (17:45) Happy 40th Nadia Angelo Maiden (1300m)
#9 – Rumbled Again @ $5.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The four-year-old mare owns three placings from four starts and she is nearing a breakthrough win.
She found it too tough at Moonee Valley two back before running second at Stony Creek, which is a good form guide.
Barrier six is ideal and we’re expecting a top effort.
Race 4. (19:15) Skye Excavations Maiden (1600m)
#6 – Sonofthebeast @ $3 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Sonofthebeast was only a nose behind the winner on debut at Cranbourne and we like his chances of going one better.
The son of Maurice had plenty of betting support on that occasion, so it’s good to see punters coming for him again.
Drawing the rails is ideal and the rise in distance helps.
Race 5. (19:45) R&C Asphalt Paving C1 (1600m)
#6 – Honeycreeper @ $2.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Honeycreeper is looking to cap off three consecutive third placings and we like her chances of winning.
The James Cummings-trained filly finished third at Flemington behind Lavish Girl last start, which is excellent form for this level of racing.
Jamie Kah rides and most of the money has come her way.
Race 8. (21:15) Frankston Mazda BM64 (1400m)
#3 – Escadora @ $3.10 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Escadora is a four-year-old mare who scored at Geelong two back before running fourth at Moonee Valley.
Having form at The Valley is ideal and it should stack up nicely in this company. The daughter of Helmet didn’t have much luck, so the run was better than it looked.
It’s another good ride for Kah, so put her on top.
Race 2. (14:10) Apparel X Clothing Maiden (1300m)
#1 – Emaleah @ $3.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Emaleah is fresh up after notching two placings from her first five starts, which is a solid record.
The daughter of Headwater has been primed with a trial placing at Gold Coast, so we’re not surprised by the betting move.
She opened at $5 before dropping to $3.90, which is a solid move.
Race 3. (14:45) Ballina Seagulls BM66 (1900m)
#4 – Brave Nick @ $3.10 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Brave Nick improved to win on this track last start and by three lengths, so he’s heading in the direction.
The four-year-old son of Nicconi owns two wins and four placings from eight starts. He loves racing at Ballina and the conditions are ideal.
Getting a 1.5kg claim helps and we like his chances.
Race 6. (16:40) Tursa Dart BM74 (1000m)
#2 – Motomiss @ $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Motomiss was good enough to score three consecutive wins before failing in a tough race at Eagle Farm last start.
She finished eighth behind Dovetail Diva, which runs in the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas. It’s an excellent form guide, so it bodes well.
$4 is a value price and those odds should firm on race day.
Race 7. (17:15) Roofing Craftsmen Ballina Cup (1590m)
#4 – Kedah @ $4.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Kedah comes off a second placing at Doomben and with six wins from 32 starts, she’s the classy runner of the field.
The Kris Lees-trained mare deserves to be favourite for the feature race and she should be ready to fire after two runs back from a spell.
It’s her first start on the track, but the drop in class bodes well.
