Friday horse racing tips

Pakenham
—
Race 1. (12:30) Racing.com Maiden (1000m)
#12 – Stormborn @ $2.75 – Bet Now
Lindsay Park lines up the two-year-old filly that brings in quality city form. She finished third on debut at Flemington and then ran two races at Moonee Valley.
One of those resulted in a third placing and she won’t be worried about maiden class at Pakenham on Friday.
The $2.75 will shorten on race day.
Race 3. (13:30) APM Group Maiden (1200m)
#8 – South Parade @ $3.60 – Bet Now
South Parade finished fifth behind unbeaten Cherry Tortini last start and that is Saturday-grade form.
Big money came for the two-year-old colt last time out and although beaten, he is dropping right back in class for this race.
We are surprised at the odds available given that he jumps from the inside draw.
Race 5. (14:30) Evergreen Turf BM64 (2200m)
#1 – Mr Monaco @ $4.20 – Bet Now
The consistent five-year-old had to do too much work in the run last start and he still battled on gamely.
He has been carrying big weights this season and his five-length win two starts back on this track was all class.
Michael Walker rides and he is well worth backing.
Race 6. (15:00) Dalton Consulting Engineers BM58 (1200m)
#4 – Catadude @ $2.60 – Bet Now
Catadude will need luck from the wide barrier but he comes into this race having scored impressively last time out.
The Matt Laurie-trained gelding settled just off the pace and came with a sustained run in the straight. It was a professional outing and punters have come early.
$2.60 is a value price and he just needs the breaks to go his way.
Race 7. (15:30) Heyfield’s Racing BM64 (1400m)
#12 – Kislina – Bet Now
The Maher/Eustace team lines up last-start winner Kislina, which could make it back-to-back victories on this track.
The daughter of Dissident was too good for them last start when finishing best. It could be a sign of things to come and she has more upside than most in this race.

Scone
—
Race 1. (12:20) Kia Ora Maiden (1100m)
#1 – You Rang @ $2.40 – Bet Now
You Rang tried to lead throughout at Kembla Grange last start but she got tired late in the piece.
The Waterhouse/Bott-trained daughter of Sebring has shown barrier speed in all three starts and over 1100m, that is a positive.
Expect another tidy effort in the opening race.
Race 3. (13:35) Turangga Farm C2 Handicap (1100m)
#1 – Two Up @ $2.50 – Bet Now
The three-year-old gelding has missed a placing only once from six starts and that’s why punters have climbed on board.
He is coming off a tidy third placing at Port Macquarie and that came behind a subsequent winner on Wednesday.
Drawing barrier four is ideal and his odds are remaining steady.
Race 5. (14:50) Cressfield Stud C1 Handicap (1600m)
#3 – Manseneta @ $2.70 – Bet Now
Manseneta was desperately unlucky when missing by a nose at Scone last start but punters should go again.
The Cody Morgan-trained gelding dashed late but just missed and his win prior at Tamworth came by 4.8 lengths, so he has class.
His opening odds of $2.75 have firmed in a touch and more money is expected to come.
Race 6. (15:25) Emirates Park Maiden (1300m)
#2 – Easy Campese @ $3.80 – Bet Now
Easy Campese is coming off a tidy effort for third at Hawkesbury and he looks like a progressive colt in the making.
The son of Sidestep has been around the mark in all four career starts, including a second placing on debut at Canterbury.
Drawing barrier 13 makes it harder but he should run well.
