Friday horse racing tips
Race 1. (12:30) bet365 Odds Protector Maiden (2400m)
#10 – Bowness @ $2.20 – Bet Now
Bowness is threatening to win a race and the three-year-old could breakthrough here. The Nigel Blackiston-trained filly finished second at Echuca two back and followed that up with another good effort.
Having Damien Oliver in the saddle is ideal and he could make all the difference with the daughter of Redwood.
Race 2. (13:00) Avalon Airport Maiden (2400m)
#7 – Think He Mei @ $2 – Bet Now
Pat Carey lines up the improving stayer and Carey knows how to train distance horses. The three-year-old gelding finished strongly to run second at Geelong last start and he is getting close.
It was his second consecutive placing and the son of So You Think is drawn to get every chance in the run.
$2 is on the short side but he should give punters a good sight.
Race 4. (14:00) Charles Rose Jewellers Maiden (1200m)
#12 – Toyetic @ $3.50 – Bet Now
Anthony Freedman has a good record with his debutantes and Toyetic is an expensive purchase. The son of Sebring cost $300,000 and it deserves attention with bookmakers.
He opened at $3.80 and has firmed in since, which is a good sign. There is no trial form to speak of, so watch the tote for further positive betting moves.
Race 5. (14:30) Rex Gorell Volkswagen BM64 (1200m)
#1 – Regardsmaree @ $3.20 – Bet Now
The form lines are strong with Regardsmaree, which has been running in open-class company at Caulfield and Flemington.
He has run behind the likes of Leale, Kuramae, and Right You Are. That is Saturday-class form and dropping back to this grade is ideal.
Take the $3.20 whilst it’s on offer.
Race 7. (15:30) Shojun Concrete BM70 (1100m)
#2 – Our Wind Spirit @ $3.10 – Bet Now
Our Wind Spirit has won his last three starts and he looks a good chance of making it four. The Les Smith-trained gelding scored all three wins on the synthetic track, but the former Kiwi has upside.
The son of Per Incanto looks to have a nice future at this level and the $3.10 is a good enough price to take.
Race 2. (12:50) Coolmore Country Only Maiden (1000m)
#7 – Toto @ $3 – Bet Now
It was a fair effort from Toto on debut and improvement is expected. The three-year-old finished fifth at Muswellbrook on a heavy track and the improved surface should help.
His trial form since has been solid, which includes a win at Gosford and the son of Manhattan Rain should go well.
Race 4. (14:05) Pryde’s Easifeed C1 Plate (1600m)
#2 – Manseneta @ $2 – Bet Now
The Cody Morgan-trained gelding is coming off a win at Tamworth and he was dominant in that effort.
He scored by 4.8 lengths and that was an impressive way to break maiden grades. It bodes well for his future and plenty of money is coming his way for this run.
Race 5. (14:40) Tab BM66 (1600m)
#7 – Deepwood Vale @ $4 – Bet Now
Deepwood Vale is due a good showing after two moderate performances this preparation. The three-year-old filly did face good opposition last start, so we’re prepared to forgive that effort and go again.
She is a two-time winner from six starts and both wins came on this track. It bodes well for a good run and $4 is a good price from bookmakers.
Race 8. (16:35) Darley Handicap (1100m)
#1 – Burning Crown @ $3.20 – Bet Now
Burning Crown is the class runner of this field and he is good enough to bounce back from his Randwick effort.
He drops down in grade significantly here and the five-time winner could return to winning form. He has been primed with a trial win at Tamworth and it bodes well.
Punters are getting a lovely price.
