We have expert betting tips for the cards this Friday at Pakenham and Wagga.
Bookmakers have value odds available for Friday meetings and we have our best selections available.
Race 2. (13:30) GG Engineering Maiden (1400m)
#11 – Francie Girl @ $2.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Francie Girl is a two-year-old filly that finished fourth on debut at Cranbourne and that performance should take her close.
The daughter of Toronado was only 2.5 lengths behind the winner and she hit the line purposefully, which is a good sign.
55.5kg is ideal and there isn’t much depth to this field.
Race 4. (14:30) Stone Ambassador Maiden Plate (1200m)
#8 – The Cruiser @ $3 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The Cruiser has to contend with a very wide draw, but the three-year-old could have the class edge on this field.
He owns three placings from six starts and it’s only a matter of time before he breaks through for the win.
$3 is a fair price and he should go close.
Race 5. (15:00) Dalton Consulting BM58 (1200m)
#1 – Tread Softly @ $2.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Tread Softly has to carry a big weight after scoring on debut, but she looks capable of rising through the grades.
The three-year-old filly by Nicconi won by 1.3 lengths at Kyneton and she gets 3kg off her back, which helps with the 64.5kg.
Money is coming for her and that’s a good sign.
Race 7. (16:00) Sportsbet Bet with Mates C1 (1400m)
#4 – Kermy @ $3.30 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Kermy has finished in the money in six of his seven starts and he could add another solid performance to his record.
The three-year-old son of Kermadec scored a win on this track two back before placing last time out. That form has stacked up well since and he should be right in the mix.
He only needs luck from barrier eight to be competitive.
Race 1. (11:35) WDF Professional Lamont Handicap (1300m)
#1 – Zadig @ $3.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Zadig comes off a win at Wagga and he has been primed with a recent trial at Goulburn.
The two-year-old gelding showed plenty of improvement to win and he looks to have plenty of ability, so the $3.20 is a generous price.
With that win under his belt, he should handle this field.
Race 3. (12:55) Ladex Construction Group Maiden (1000m)
#6 – Secret Disclosure @ $2 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Drawing barrier 14 isn’t ideal, but the three-year-old filly looked good at the trials when winning at Wagga.
The daughter of Dissident won by nine lengths and it was an effortless display, so we’re not surprised at the short odds.
$2 is a fair price given her potential.
Race 5. (14:10) Quickskip BM58 (2000m)
#5 – Casino Time @ $3.30 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Casino Time comes off three consecutive placings and although his best form doesn’t come on this track, the ability is there.
The son of Monaco Consul is a three-time winner from 30 starts and two of those wins have come at this distance.
Money is coming thick and fast so take the $3.30 available.
Race 8. (16:05) Bruce McMah C2 Handicap (1200m)
#4 – Clearly Regal @ $5.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Clearly Regal owns two wins from 13 starts and he’s better than his form suggests.
The Kurt Goldman-trained four-year-old owns a win at this distance and despite drawing wide, he should get a drag into the field.
He should find this easier and punters get each-way odds to enjoy.
