We have expert betting tips for the cards this Friday night at The Valley and Canterbury.
There is plenty of value available with bookmakers at the Friday meetings and we have our best bets across the cards.
Race 1. (18:15) Living Legends Handicap (2040m)
#2 – Burning Power @ $2.25 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Burning Power was far too good for them at The Valley last start and a repeat could be on the cards.
The three-year-old filly has scored two wins from four career starts, and we think she’s got another win on the cards.
55kg is ideal and the $2.25 is a good sign.
Race 2. (18:45) Mooneevalley.com.au Maiden (1500m)
#5 – Invincible Crown @ $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Invincible Crown has been threatening to win with three placings from four starts. He went close at Sandown last start, which is a solid form guide.
It’s not the strongest field he’ll ever face, so we’re expecting him to take the opportunity and break maiden grades.
Punters get odds worth taking.
Race 5. (20:15) Drummond Golf BM64 (1000m)
#12 – Aquapishe @ $3.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Aquapishe went close behind Telluride on debut at The Valley before winning at Pakenham by 1.8 lengths last start.
The three-year-old son of Headwater has plenty of ability and that should be evident on Friday night against this level of opposition.
Having Damien Oliver in the saddle only helps his chances.
Race 6. (20:45) Ladbrokes 55 Second Challenge BM70 (955m)
#5 – Award Winner – $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Award Winner comes off consecutive wins at Pakenham and Caulfield, and despite rising in weight from 51kg to 58kg, she can handle it.
The Freedman-trained daughter of Exceed and Excel drops in class and we think she’ll have immediate success on Friday night.
Punters get each-way odds for the risk.
Race 2. (18:30) Agency Property Management BM64 (1900m)
#2 – Black Queen @ $1.95 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Black Queen is shooting for three consecutive wins after scoring at Kembla Grange and Wyong.
The Chris Waller-trained four-year-old was too good for them last start as a $1.35 chance, so punters are getting better odds this time around.
She loves the wet surfaces and James McDonald rides.
Race 4. (19:30) Quayclean Maiden (1100m)
#3 – Argentado @ $4.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Punters should always respect a James Cummings-trained runner with McDonald riding.
The three-year-old filly has looked good at the trials, including a win at Hawkesbury and a placing at Warwick Farm last start.
She gets the inside draw and she should be in it for a long way.
Race 5. (20:00) XXXX BM72 (1200m)
#9 – Bacchanalia @ $2.15 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Bacchanalia is another Cummings-trained runner that gets the services of McDonald, and he should be winning.
The finished fourth behind Profiteer down the Flemington last start and he’s facing much easier opposition this time around.
Running in the wet is no issue and he could firm into an odds-on quote on race night.
Race 6. (20:30) The Agency Real Estate BM72 (1550m)
#5 – Cross Talk @ $3 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Cross Talk made a big impressive first-up in Australia when scoring by 4.8 lengths at Hawkesbury.
The former Kiwi gave them no chance in the heavy conditions, which followed a four-length debut win across the Tasman.
He loves the wet conditions, as many New Zealand runners do, so we’re happy with the $3 available with bookmakers.
