Gawler horse racing tips
Race 1. (12:01) Happy 21st Lauren Paues BM66 (1100m)
#3 – Allez Sur Le Gris @ $2.35 – Bet Now
The David Jolly-trained filly is on debut after some pleasing trial work. She scored a trial win by 4.3 lengths at Morphettville and that was a very nice outing.
We are not surprised to see money coming for her on debut and the daughter of Puissance de Lune could have a big future.
Watch for more money to come on Saturday.
Race 2. (12:36) Tab Maiden (1100m)
#7 – Silver on Red @ $7.50 – Bet Now
Another Jolly-trained debutante that has been specked in the betting. The three-year-old gelding opened at $9 and has firmed to $7.50, which is a good sign.
He finished second in a trial at Morphettville and the form out of that trial should stack up nicely. It was an encouraging sign and the value odds are there.
Race 3. (13:11) Barringtonbookmaking BM64 (1200m)
#4 – With Pleasure @ $5 – Bet Now
With Pleasure looked the goods when winning three consecutive races this campaign. The four-year-old mare makes her own luck in front and that is a good asset to have.
Her form at Belmont consists of three starts for two wins and a placing, so she loves the track and should run well again.
Punters are getting odds worth taking.
Race 4. (13:46) G&J Civil BM78 (2100m)
#1 – Andrea Mantegna @ $8.50 – Bet Now
The value is clearly with Andrea Mantegna, which finished second behind Busker’s Ballard last start.
The seven-year-old hasn’t won for some time and that’s why he is paying $8.50. However, that was an encouraging performance last start so stick with him.
He meets a similar field here so back on an each-way basis.
Race 5. (14:26) Taylor & Forgie Funerals BM72 (1500m)
#5 – Sign of Ussuri @ $2 – Bet Now
Sign of Ussuri is flying of late, which includes back-to-back comfortable wins. The three-year-old scored by 5.3 lengths two back and followed that up with a 2.8-length victory.
Team McEvoy has the son of Fastnet Rock flying in Adelaide and we are not surprised at the odds-on quote.
Punters should be confident in backing Sign of Ussuri.
Race 6. (15:06) Adelaide Plains Bloodstock BM58 (1700m)
#3 – Classy Joe @ $4.80 – Bet Now
Classy Joe is getting close to a win this preparation after three consecutive second placings. The Hickmott-trained gelding loves Gawler, so reverting back to this track is ideal.
He owns three wins and three placings from seven starts at Gawler, so that brings him right into contention.
The odds are fair and the $4.80 could shorten.
Race 7. (15:46) Coopers Xpa Handicap (1100m)
#11 – Octane @ $3.20 – Bet Now
Octane was ridden upside down last start and although punters did their dough, the gelding performed well considering.
The son of I Am Invincible is a four-time winner and he looks a type that could rise through the grades very quickly.
Carrying a light weight is ideal and punters are getting odds well worth taking.
Race 8. (16:26) GBJC Thanks BM66 (1200m)
#4 – The Natural @ $3.10 – Bet Now
Team McEvoy lines up the three-year-old filly that is better than what she showed last start. It came at Sandown, so this is easier and she does own talent.
She is a daughter of Fastnet Rock, so the breeding is there and getting a good barrier draw could switch her on.
$3.10 is a fair price from bookmakers and those odds should remain steady throughout the week.
Race 9. (17:05) Cornerstone Stud BM64 (1200m)
#1 – Beeokay @ $4.20 – Bet Now
Beeokay has been OK this season and although he has been in work for a long time, that race fitness could work for him.
The five-year-old is a six-time winner from 32 starts and he also owns 10 second placings. His consistency is good and he is worth backing.
