Geelong horse racing tips & form
Race 1. (12:25) Bet365 Drift Protector Maiden (2424m)
#10 – Nicstar @ $3.60 – Bet @ Bet365
Nicstar is on the verge of winning after posting six placings from seven starts and she’s deserving of a victory.
The four-year-old daughter of Zoustar comes off a second placing at Geelong in wet conditions and she gets similar conditions on Wednesday.
Punters get value odds for a runner knocking on the door.
Race 2. (13:00) Elephant and Castle Hotel Maiden (1118m)
#13 – What You Need @ $2.70 – Bet @ Bet365
What You Need has been well-backed on debut following a trial placing at Cranbourne and that’s a very good sign.
The three-year-old colt is bred for speed and after opening at $3.20, it has been one-way traffic with bookmakers.
Watch for any further betting moves on race day.
Race 3. (13:35) DMB Contracting Maiden (1118m)
#12 – Nanagui @ $1.95 – Bet @ Bet365
Nanagui is another runner getting close to a win after posting three tidy second placings during her first campaign.
The talented daughter of Sebring ran behind the likes of Sebonack, Ruthless Dame and Crosswinds in the city. That’s stellar form for midweek level and she won a jumpout to prepare.
We expect around $1.65 on race day, so jump on.
Race 4. (14:10) McGrath Estate Agents Maiden (1418m)
#5 – Only Human @ $2.45 – Bet @ Bet365
Only Human has finished second at his last three races and it’s about time he broke through for the win.
He four-year-old son of Animal Kingdom was only three lengths behind the winner last start in trying conditions at Sandown.
He’ll be better-suited at Geelong and only the wide draw is a concern.
Race 5. (14:45) Prestige Jayco BM64 (1518m)
#1 – Aspen Colorado – Bet @ Bet365
The Lindsay Smith-trained gelding capped off consistent form with a win at Donald last start and he’s a nice type in the making.
The five-year-old enjoyed the drier conditions to score by 4.3 lengths, and although it’s wet at Geelong, he can handle it.
We expect bookmakers to have him as the favourite.
Race 6. (15:20) Rex Gorell BM64 (1720m)
#8 – Prospettiva – Bet @ Bet365
The Williams-trained runner didn’t fire at Sandown last start when finishing seven lengths behind the winner but we expect better here.
Rising in distance to 1700m is ideal as her only win came over the exact distance, so punters should see a better performance on Wednesday.
Punters should get each-way odds on race day.
Race 7. (15:55) Roderick Insurance Brokers BM64 (1118m)
#5 – The Superintendent – Bet @ Bet365
We’re expecting an improved run from The Superintendent following two solid efforts this preparation.
The Hayes-trained son of Super Easy owns two wins from eight starts and his effort for fourth at Ballarat last start is a good sign.
Carrying 60kg isn’t easy but there should be value with his odds.
Race 8. (16:30) Viatek BM64 (1318m)
#3 – Galleon – Bet @ Bet365
Galleon is a two-time winner from three starts and the four-year-old won at Geelong last time out.
The son of Not a Single Doubt scored by a half-length in similar conditions and we expect him to rise through the grades nicely.
Having Damien Oliver riding is a bonus and he sticks with him, so that adds confidence.
