The 2018 George Ryder Stakes is all about Winx and there doesn’t appear to be any serious challengers.
The media has hyped up three-year-old Kementari, but when Winx is carrying only 1kg more than a three-year-old winner of four races, it’s going to be a tough ask for the rest of the field.
A $114,000 bet has been placed on Winx and it looks money well-placed but we’ve found the best value bets for the 2018 George Ryder Stakes.
Be sure to shop around for the best odds this weekend and we recommend checking out new bookmaker Neds.

2018 George Ryder Stakes Form Guide & Tips
Happy Clapper (Best Bet – $2.60 to place) – BET NOW
Bookmakers only pay two placings in a six-horse field, but Happy Clapper looks the best of the field behind Winx.
The Patrick Webster-trained seven-year-old hit the line with purpose when winning at Randwick last start and the quality gelding is in top form.
Having experience against the best thoroughbreds in Australia is a big advantage over the three-year-old, which hasn’t left its own grade.
Take the experience customer here at a good price.
Clearly Innocent ($71) – BET NOW
Out of form but his record on rain-affected tracks is superb.
The Kris Lees-trained six-year-old has won all three starts on a slow track and his only start on a heavy. If the rain stays around, he could get his confidence back by running well here.
The place odds of $10 is solid value but we’d need to see some improvement first before suggesting a bet on him.
Crack Me Up ($61) – BET NOW
Dug deep to score at Randwick last start but that form isn’t going to stack up well at Group 1 level.
Bjorn Baker has this four-year-old running well but his best form has come in Brisbane and that’s hardly a good guide come autumn time in Sydney.
Lovely type but wait for a better betting opportunity.
Winx ($1.10) – BET NOW
Faces another subpar field and the result won’t change.
The Chris Waller-trained champion could be getting bored of facing inferior opposition but they’re all scared of facing her and with good reason.
She’ll make a mockery of this field punters that are taking the $7.50 for Kementari are being sorely ripped off because Winx has this field by 10 lengths.
Invincible Gem (Best Roughie – $5 to place) – BET NOW
That was a good run from Invincible Gem when running third behind Happy Clapper last start and she will only take improvement from that.
She’s a quality four-year-old which has won five of her 12 starts and although she is taking on stiff competition here, she maps well in this field and her place odds are appealing.
International rider Zac Purton takes the ride and that’s a positive.
Kementari ($7.50) – BET NOW
It might not seem like it, but we’re fans of Kementari.
The three-year-old has been in great form this campaign, winning all three starts and putting away a good age-group field last start with ease.
The James Cummings-trained runner has yet to face a weight-for-age type field and he’s horribly weighted at 56kg.
We’d give him a chance of getting within four lengths of Winx if he was carrying 51kg but the odds are too short and he should be paying at least $12 to win.
