Gold Coast free tips & form

Race 1. (12:55) Girls On Tour Maiden (2200m)

#9 – Miss Fialka – BET NOW

There isn’t much form to boast in this race but Miss Fialka has the Chris Waller factor and a light weight to help.

The Pierro filly has placed in only one start from six attempts but the former Kiwi runner finished third behind a Group 1 winner across the Tasman and that form should stack up nicely.

Carrying only 54.5kg is going to make her a threat.

Race 2. (13:34) Jewel Raceday C4 (1200m)

#5 – Winter Passage – BET NOW

Winter Passage has form behind the likes of Macewen and Magic Fox this campaign, which came after scoring a win at Doomben.

Trained by Stuart Kendrick, the three-year-old has been around the mark her entire career and she has missed a win or a placing in only one of her 10 career attempts. That’s a good strike rate and she scored at her only start at Gold Coast.

Gets some weight off her back and that should bring her right into contention.

Race 3. (14:07) $1.5m Jewel Raceday Maiden (1200m)

#3 – Sparkling Facet – BET NOW

She has started her career consistently with four placings from five starts and a win looks highly likely here.

The lightly-tried four-year-old ran a half-length behind Speedgun last start at Ipswich and her form prior came at the likes of Scone, Gosford and Newcastle, which are good form guides for the Gold Coast.

Jeff Lloyd will get the best out of the mare and we’re not expecting big odds.

Race 4. (14:45) $1.5m Jewel Raceday BM65 (1100m)

#3 – Pork And Beans – BET NOW

Despite the average name, Pork And Beans has exceeded expectations with two wins from three starts. The patiently-handled five-year-old scored on debut in 2017 before taking a year off.

He resumed with a poor effort at Doomben but improved quickly to win at Sunshine Coast last time out. That bodes well for this and he gets a 2kg claim to help with the 59.5kg on his back.

Drawn to get every chance from the inside barrier.

Race 5. (15:25) Membership R65 Handicap (1400m)

#6 – Whodunnit – BET NOW

Tricky form race but Whodunnit, although winless in some time, looks tough to beat. The Les Ross-trained runner has been around the mark without winning lately but she has found a race capable of winning.

The mare by Court Command has four wins from 32 starts but she has run well at Gold Coast in the past and having a senior rider in the saddle should help her chances.

Each way odds should be offer.

Race 6. (16:05) $500k 2YO Jewel BM65 (1800m)

#6 – Borazon – BET NOW

Couldn’t have been more impressive when romping home by 4.8 lengths at Gold Coast despite being cramped for room early and travelling wide early.

The Waller-trained three-year-old has grown another leg since moving from Sydney to Queensland and the easier opposition has given him the confidence needed to kick on with it now.

Inside draw, 56.5kg and Jeff Lloyd in the saddle – that makes him extremely tough to beat but don’t expect big odds.

Race 7. (16:45) A.D. Hollindale BM65 (1400m)

#2 – Elixir – BET NOW

Three-year-old colt which brings in form from Eagle Farm and that should stand up nicely at Gold Coast.

The son of Exceed And Excel was a maiden winner on this course last year where he won by a length and his form since has been steady.

He ran on well enough from midfield last start to suggest he could take this out and it’s good to see Jeff Lloyd stick with him.

Race 8. (17:20) Tab Betting Auditorium C4 (1200m)

#9 – Secret Mo – BET NOW

The five-year-old gelding could bet at value odds here after running 13th at Eagle Farm last start but punters should expect quick improvement.

His form prior included consecutive placings and he’s a four-time winner from 17 starts, which is a solid start to a career.

One for odds.
