Magic Millions Day horse racing tips
Race 1. (12:15) Magic Millions Maiden Plate (1200m)
#4 – Spaceboy – Bet Now
Spaceboy has been tough for punters to follow with six starts for five placings, but what a way to break maiden grades this would be.
Huge money is on the line here and Spaceboy is the type of horse that could show up on the big occasion.
The son of Deep Field has promised plenty throughout his career, which includes placings behind the likes of Splintex and Twentyfour Carat.
Nash Rawiller takes the ride and we’re expecting him to go close.
Race 2. (12:50) Frizelle Sunshine Magic Millions Quality (1800m)
#1 – Sambro @ $3.20 – Bet Now
We are patiently waiting for Sambro to show us something this campaign but he’s talented at best.
The five-year-old gelding is coming off a seventh at Eagle Farm and prior to that he finished third behind Quackerjack at Group 2 level.
The three-time winner needs to start winning more consistently but this field is a step down in class and he has James McDonald in the saddle.
Bookmakers have taken good money in the early markets.
Race 3. (13:25) Ferrari Magic Millions Trophy (2400m)
#1 – The Candy Man @ $2.20 – Bet Now
The Candy Man produced an effortless win at Eagle Farm last start when scoring by 2.8 lengths.
He’s a lovable type and always attracts attention in the betting. It’s not hard to see why as he has 10 wins from 21 starts.
It’s tough to overlook that record and he’s only getting better with age. The six-year-old will have to carry the big weight but he goes on top on form alone.
Race 4. (14:00) Magic Millions Snippets (1200m)
#5 – Champagne Cuddles @ $4.20 – Bet Now
Champagne Cuddles has Group 1 form and that’s tough to look past in a race like this.
The Bjorn Baker-trained mare has won only four of her 25 starts but she has been racing against the very best for most of her career.
She has won in excess of $1.4 million and that’s testament to the class of thoroughbred she has been racing against.
Her recent form has been steady and good enough to take this out.
Race 5. (14:35) Sky Racing Magic Millions Fillies & Mares (1300m)
#10 – Yamazaki @ $9 – Bet Now
Yamazaki produced an almighty performance to win by 3.3 lengths on this track last week.
The David Pfieffer-trained four-year-old boomed home over the top of them and a repeat performance could be on the cards.
She is still on the improve and it’s good to see Glen Boss sticking with her. He rides at only 55.5kg and draws barrier two, which is much better than the draw of 16 she had last start.
Race 8. (16:45) Pacific Fair Magic Millions Cup (1400m)
#6 – Vega One @ $5 – Bet Now
The Tony Gollan-trained gelding is talented at best and that was evident when scoring at Eagle Farm last start.
He’s a four-year-old gelding that defeated a good field by 1.8 lengths and has since been primed with a trial win at Doomben.
Drawing barrier 14 is the only negative going against him but he usually needs luck. Therefore, it’s wise to put him in calculations as we’re expecting a tidy performance.
Race 9. (17:20) Magic Millions Quality (1300m)
#10 – Boomtown Lass @ $17 – Bet Now
That was an impressive fresh up win from Boomtown Lass and she could cause an upset in the final race.
The Chris Anderson-trained mare scored by a half-length at Doomben and although beaten in two runs since, she wasn’t disgraced behind Jami Lady last start.
She gets 54kg on her back and Glen Boss could provide a gem of a ride.
