It’s the biggest race day of the year in Queensland as the $10 million Magic Millions Race Days runs this Saturday at Gold Coast.
Every race is worth a stack of money, including the $2 million 2YO Classic and 3YO Guineas. We have previewed the two features on the site and we also have tips for every other race on the tremendous Gold Coast Magic Millions card.
Magic Millions free tips & form
Race 1. (12:40) Pacific Fair MM Maiden (1200m)
#11 – Terminology @ $2.65 – BET NOW
We’re not sure how Terminology hasn’t won a race yet but the three-year-old filly gets her best chance to break through and the money on offer makes it worth the wait.
The Waterhouse/Bott-trained daughter of Star Witness finished second behind Military Zone at Gosford last start and prior to that she finished in behind the likes of Bel Sonic, Tell Me and Sunlight.
That’s top form for a maiden event.
Race 2. (13:15) Magic Millions Country Cup (1200m)
#3 – Stanley Park @ $5 – BET NOW
Stanley Park isn’t the best horse in the field but he gets the best run of the race from barrier six and that could make all the difference.
The four-year-old is a winner of five from 10 with two minor placings and he has yet to run worse than second in five starts this season.
His form stacks up nicely and punters are getting a good price.
Race 3. (13:50) Magic Millions Quality (1300m)
#10 – Chapter And Verse @ $5.50 – BET NOW
The form around Chapter And Verse reads well having finished second behind Cadogan at his last two starts.
Desleigh Forster trains the four-year-old which stays down in the weights at 54kg and that’s going to make him tough to beat here. He carried 57.5kg to victory three starts back and his turn-of-foot should be electric.
He has missed a win or placing in only one of his 11 career starts and that’s good consistency.
Race 4. (14:25) Magic Millions Trophy (2200m)
#15 – Tunero @ $15 – BET NOW
The Chris Waller-trained runner has drawn wide for this and that’s why he’s currently at $15 with bookmakers, but the draw shouldn’t matter over this distance.
A last start winner, Tunero was too good for them over 2400m and although he’s dropping back in distance, he has performed well of late over 1900m.
He’s drifting in the betting but punters are getting good value.
Race 5. (15:00) Magic Millions Snippets (1200m)
#3 – Houtzen @ $1.75 – BET NOW
Steady money has come for Houtzen during the week and she could start as low as $1.50 come start time, so punters are getting good value.
The Magic Millions winner is back at Gold Coast where she’s unbeaten from two starts and she should be able to exert her pace against this field.
She scored by 2.8 lengths when carrying 59.5kg last start and that was a nice hit-out for this.
Race 6. (15:35) Magic Millions Fillies & Mares (1300m)
#5 – Manicure @ $2.90 – BET NOW
Three-time winner from seven starts which scored by 1.5 lengths at Doomben last start and punters haven’t missed her this time around.
She ran as a $10 chance last start and with close placings behind Houtzen and Moss Trip last season, she’s an obvious top pick for this.
Second up after eight months off might be the only worry but she’s the class runner here.
Race 9. (17:40) Magic Millions Cup (1400m)
#11 – Cadogan @ $6.50- BET NOW
Cadogan has been in electric form this campaign, winning his last three races in terrific fashion and he has clearly come of age.
The Toby Edmonds-trained five-year-old had only won three of his first 23 starts but has scored by 1.3, 2.3 and 0.2 lengths this season. It has been a good turnaround in form and he has been showing a great turn-of-speed.
We’re expecting another tough performance and punters are getting great each-way odds.
