Gold Coast horse racing tips & form

Race 1. (12:33) Vale Noel Doyle Handicap (900m)

#3 – Laborious – Bet @ Sportsbet

Joel Pengilly lines up the two-year-old filly that scored emphatically by 8.5 lengths on debut. She was never tested and she could rise through the grades.

The daughter of Denman meets more depth in this field, but she gets the inside draw and we expect plenty of money to come.

Bookies will likely offer an odds-on quote.

Race 2. (13:08) The Great Northern Maiden (1400m)

#5 – Skagerak – Bet @ Sportsbet

The four-year-old gelding is yet to win from eight starts, but he placed at his last two starts last campaign.

He is a son of Niagara that ran a length behind the winner at Ipswich and his trial placing at Gold Coast is a good indication of his fitness.

James Orman rides off the inside draw and it’s tough to ignore his chances.

Race 3. (13:43) Johnnie Walker C5 Handicap (1800m)

#3 – Kiriana – Bet @ Sportsbet

Looking for three consecutive wins is Kiriana, which got the job done at Sunshine Coast and Doomben last prep.

Her most recent win came at Doomben over 2060m, but she is a two-time winner at this distance and it’s a good starting point.

Barrier two is ideal and punters could get each-way odds on Wednesday.

Race 4. (14:18) Jim Beam Double Serve C1 Handicap (900m)

#8 – Danites – Bet @ Sportsbet

Danites got the job done nicely at Sunshine Coast and after taking 22 runs to break maidens, she could kick on with it.

The Stuart Laming-trained four-year-old won by a half-length and getting into this race with 54.5kg on her back is ideal.

Michael Cahill rides and punters will get each-way odds.

Race 5. (14:53) Campari BM65 (1400m)

#4 – Auron – Bet @ Sportsbet

Auron comes off a maiden win at Ipswich and although it came by a nose, it should give him confidence.

The Tony Gollan-trained son of Savabeel scored at odds of $1.55, and although he gave punters heart palpitations, he hit the nicely impressively.

Barrier 12 will force him back but watch for him late.

Race 6. (15:28) XXXX Dry BM72 (1100m)

#2 – Howwonderfullifeis – Bet @ Sportsbet

The Gollan-trained four-year-old owns five wins and six placings from 21 starts, so she is worth following.

She hasn’t been showing her best form of late, but she did finish fourth behind Le Palmier two back at Eagle Farm, which is a good form guide.

Getting 3kg off her back is ideal and she could get back to winning form.

Race 7. (16:03) Jameson Irish Whiskey C2 Handicap (1300m)

#14 – The Lioness – Bet @ Sportsbet

The Lioness has yet to finish worse than second from four starts and there is plenty to like about that form.

She is a daughter of Exosphere that scored at Gold Coast last start and staying down in the weights is ideal at 55kg.

Robbie Fradd rides and despite drawing barrier 13, she should go close.

Race 8. (16:38) Brook Vale Union Lemon BM72 (1400m)

#9 – Really Discreet – Bet @ Sportsbet

Really Discreet is a three-time winner that comes off a fifth at Toowoomba and she could enjoy the conditions at Gold Coast.

The four-year-old daughter of Helmet scored a trial win at Doomben prior to that and if she brings her best form to the table, she could score.

Barrier 13 doesn’t make it easy but punters should get value odds.
