Gold Coast hosts a nine-race card this Wednesday and we have expert betting tips and form.
Punters love betting midweek at Gold Coast and considering the Brisbane Winter Carnival is in full swing, the fields are even better.
Gold Coast free tips & form
Race 1. (11:23) Seafood Buffet Restaurant Handicap (1200m)
#5 – Lyrical Girl – Bet Now
The Tony Gollan-trained two-year-old ran second last time out and that form looks good for this.
A daughter by Your Song, Lyrical Girl gets a few things in her favour, including the inside draw and Jeff Lloyd in the saddle.
She gets only 55kg on her back and we’re expecting bookmakers to have her moderately short in the betting market.
Race 2. (11:58) Membership Renew Now Maiden (1100m)
#3 – Set To Sizzle – Bet Now
Set To Sizzle had a tough campaign when last in work but he returned to form with a last-start placing at Lismore.
The three-year-old gelding should be better suited against this level of opposition as there’s no superstars in this field and it’s only a matter of time before he wins.
Punters might be able to get each way odds here.
Race 3. (12:33) Tab Maiden (1800m)
#1 – Wicked Heights – Bet Now
Looked very average last time in work but has rebounded nicely this campaign with consecutive second placings.
The five-year-old gelding has relished the softer track conditions and almost scored when leading throughout at Ipswich two back.
He has yet to win from 22 starts but having Jeff Lloyd in the saddle will help with that.
Race 4. (13:08) Skyline Restaurant C3 (1200m)
#3 – Skate To Paris – Bet Now
Chris Munce lines up the four-year-old mare which is looking to rebound after a tough eighth at Gold Coast last time out.
The Bradbury’s Luck mare was a winner at Eagle Farm three back before running second at Eagle Farm in a harder race.
This is a big drop back in class from that and we’re expecting a bounce-back performance here.
Race 5. (13:43) Membership Join Now C3 (1200m)
#8 – Phobetor – Bet Now
Michael Costa lines up the three-year-old gelding which did the job nicely on debut at Gold Coast.
The 1.8-length win was a good effort first time to the races and having winning experience on this track is ideal.
55.5kg on the back and every chance of remaining unbeaten.
Race 6. (14:18) Maiden Plate (1400m)
#1 – Addocarr – Bet Now
He was heavily-backed to win last time out where he should have won but wasn’t disgraced in defeat.
The Tony Gollan-trained son of Sizzling ran just under a length behind the winner at Eagle Farm and he’s only going to be better with the run.
He has placed second up in the past and he looks a good chance to take this out.
Race 7. (14:53) Tab BM65 (1800m)
#9 – Our Sunny Girl – Bet Now
Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young bring the three-year-old filly to Queensland after finally breaking through for a win last start.
The Cranbourne win came by 2.8 lengths on a heavy track and she’s going to get conditions to suit here. That bodes well and dropping to 54kg helps.
A strong rider is in the saddle and she should be competitive at this level.
Race 8. (15:28) Tab BM65 (1800m)
#6 – Windermere – Bet Now
The Toby Edmonds/Jeff Lloyd combination could strike here with Windermere, which scored a quality win at Ipswich last time out.
She’s a three-year-old filly which has had eight starts for two wins and two placings. Coming into this with a win will do her plenty of good and she could keep that form going.
Lloyd will get a good run in transit from barrier six and that could make all the difference.
Race 9. (16:03) Tab BM65 (1400m)
#1 – Hacksaw Ridge – Bet Now
Comes into this with back-to-back wins and he has been very impressive in the process.
The four-year-old scored by four lengths two back and backed that up with a three-length win at Gold Coast.
He could well be a track specialist and despite rising in weight for this, he looms as a serious winning threat.
