Gosford headlines midweek racing in New South Wales this week and we have our best value bets for the meeting.
Gosford horse racing tips & form
Race 1. (14:20) ANZ Bloodstock News Maiden (1000m)
#12 – Prasiolite – Bet @ Sportsbet
Prasiolite is on debut for Chris Waller after finishing in a recent trial at Rosehill earlier this month.
The speedy daughter of Written Tycoon finished a short margin behind Four Moves Ahead, which is impressive form for this race.
Having James McDonald takes the ride and with 55kg on her back, she should be tough to hold out. It will pay to watch betting moves on race day.
Race 2. (14:55) Robrick Lodge Maiden (1600m)
#2 – Lost Impact – Bet @ Sportsbet
Lost Impact did enough on debut to warrant attention and the four-year-old mare will benefit from the experience.
She is a well-bred daughter of Deep Impact that didn’t have much betting interest on debut, but we expect punters to come for her on Wednesday.
Blake Spriggs stays in the saddle and drawing barrier four should give her a good run in transit.
Race 3. (15:30) Street Boss @ Darley BM72 (1200m)
#8 – Geist – Bet @ Sportsbet
Geist was good enough to score back-to-back wins at Hawkesbury and Wyong before running third at Randwick.
The James Cummings-trained filly scored both wins by just under a length and she wasn’t far behind a stronger field last time out.
Carrying 54.5kg is ideal and Rachel King should give her a good trip in transit.
Race 4. (16:05) Tab BM72 (2600m)
#4 – Space Is Deep – Bet @ Sportsbet
Despite running some ordinary races this preparation, we’re sticking with Space Is Deep for one more run.
The Waller-trained four-year-old is a three-time winner from 14 starts and she also has five placings on her record.
The daughter of Sebring has yet to race at Gosford, but if she gets going before the turn, she could outstay them over this distance.
Race 5. (16:40) Hyland Race Colours Maiden (1100m)
#6 – Raoul – Bet @ Sportsbet
James Cummings lines up the three-year-old gelding that has done enough to two starts to date.
He started his career with a second placing at Gosford before running third at Kembla Grange. He has since been spelled for a brief time and given a trial at Hawkesbury to prepare.
It was an encouraging effort and despite the big weight, he should be able to go close against this talented field.
Race 6. (17:15) Vinery Stud Maiden Plate (1100m)
#1 – Attribution – Bet @ Sportsbet
The Cummings-trained filly went close last campaign and punters should expect him to breakthrough soon.
She is a well-bred daughter of Exceed And Excel that owns four placings from four starts, including a placing at Gosford last time out.
Her recent trial win at Kembla Grange is a good sign and having James McDonald in the saddle is a bonus.
Race 7. (17:50) Sky Racing Active BM72 (1600m)
#8 – Flexible – Bet @ Sportsbet
Flexible is shooting for three consecutive wins after scoring at Warwick Farm by 1.8 lengths and by 2.3 lengths at Randwick.
The three-year-old daughter of Hallowed Crown has been paying short odds to win and we’re expecting much of the same on Wednesday.
She rises in weight to 58kg, which could be tough to carry, but punters should be confident in her chances.
