Gosford racing tips

Race 1. (13:15) Central Coast Maiden (1600m)

#2 – Lego Master @ $2.05

Lego Master is nearing a win after consecutive placings, including a second placing at Goulburn last time out.

The three-year-old son of Graff opened at $1.85 before drifting, but we expect late money to come for the current second favourite.

It won’t take him long to win a race.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 2. (13:50) Mangrove Mountain Memorial Club Maiden (1200m)

#3 – Ausbred Hed’n’tail @ $3.70

Brad Widdup lines up Ausbred Hed’n’tail, who hasn’t been too far away in recent trials.

The three-year-old colt by Saxon Warrior ran well when placing at the Kembla Grange and Hawkesbury trials, which is good form.

He is rock-solid in betting markets, which is a good sign.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 3. (14:25) Gosford RSL BM64 (1100m)

#5 – Mercy Me @ $3.30

Seeking back-to-back wins is Mercy Me, who won at Gosford last time out by a length.

The three-year-old filly by Hellbent opened at shorter odds, so she has drifted, but she should be tough to hold out.

Barrier three is ideal, so she is a good bet.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 4. (15:00) Ip Advokat BM64 (2100m)

#2 – Taunui @ $7.00

Punters get value odds for Taunui, who scored a win earlier this preparation before adding placings at Gilgandra and Tamworth.

The four-year-old son of Astern owns four wins and six placings from 14 starts, which is an excellent form guide for this level of racing.

Getting 3kg off his back is enough to take him close.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 5. (15:35) Nova Coast Services Maiden (1000m)

#8 – Charka @ $4.80

Charka has been right around the mark so far, including two third placings and a handy fourth at Kembla Grange last time out.

The three-year-old filly by Exceed and Excel is prepared with a trial win at Randwick, so she looks ready to show something.

Barrier two is ideal, so take the each-way odds.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 6. (16:10) Guardian Safety Solutions BM64 (1000m)

#2 – Banjora @ $2.00

Big bets have come for Banjora, who won by a half-length at Gosford on debut before heading out for a spell.

The Bryce Heys-trained gelding hasn’t been far away in two trial runs at Warwick Farm, which is good form for this level of racing.

He opened at $2.90, so the money has come thick and fast.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 7. (16:50) Central Coast Granite BM64 (1100m)

#2 – Astronomix @ $2.60

Astronomix couldn’t have been more impressive when winning on debut at Randwick, and the form in behind has stacked up well.

The three-year-old son of Calyx looks like a potential Saturday runner, and a win on Thursday would confirm that.

Take the $2.60 before money comes for him.

Stake: 2 Units
