Gosford horse racing tips & form
—
Race 1. (14:20) Eve Security Services Maiden (1600m)
#2 โ Cabarita @ $3.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Cabarita has steadily improved throughout her career, which culminating with a second placing at Kembla Grange last start.
The three-year-old filly is a well-bred daughter of Redouteโs Choice, and her effort behind Speedzone was a top outing.
Her maiden win isnโt far away and it could come here.
Race 2. (14:55) Tanti Financial Services Maiden (1100m)
#2 โ Loch Lomond @ $2.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Strong money has come for Loch Lomond, which owns one trial placing from two attempts.
The Kris Lees-trained four-year-old has taken his time to get to the races, and after opening at $3.10, his odds have firmed considerably.
The son of Sacred Falls looks a good chance at breaking through on debut, and it pays to follow well-backed runners from this stable.
Race 3. (15:30) Narara Plumbing Provincial Maiden (1200m)
#9 โ Silent Tryst @ $1.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Silent Tryst is a quality filly on the verge of breaking through. The Matthew Vella-trained filly finished second at Kembla Grange last start, and although well-beaten in a recent trial, she has upside.
She wasnโt asked to do much in the trial, and carrying 55.5kg for this race is an ideal weight.
Bookmakers opened her up at short odds and a steady flow of money has come throughout the week. That is a good sign, and she should give punters a good sight.
Race 4. (16:05) The Entrance Leagues Club C1 Handicap (1600m)
#1 โ Deadly Impact @ $5.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Deadly Impact didnโt fire at Newcastle last start but not a lot went right, and he has been primed with a trial at Rosehill.
The four-year-old owns one win and three placings from eight starts, which is a solid record. He scored a placing at his only start over a mile, which bodes well.
2kg comes off his back and the $5.50 is a fair price.
Race 5. (16:40) Happy Birthday P James BM64 (2600m)
#1 โ Urbino @ $6 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Kris Lees lines up the six-year-old gelding that is rarely out of the money. Urbino has had 19 starts for three wins and 12 placings, which is a consistent record.
He is coming off a third placing at Doomben, and although beaten, rising from 2200m to 2600m looks ideal for the stayer.
He has yet to race at Gosford, but trainer Kris Lees should have him ready to fire.
Race 6. (17:15) Central Coast Granite BM64 (1100m)
#5 โ Spiranac @ $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Spiranac was good enough to score three consecutive wins last preparation, and she could start this prep with a win.
The four-year-old mare scored at Dubbo by 1.5 lengths two starts back, before finishing second at Newcastle last time out.
Her best form doesnโt come at this distance, but getting a 3kg claimer in the saddle is a bonus. That could see her run in the money at each-way odds.
Race 7. (17:50) Sneddon Bros C1 Handicap (1200m)
#7 โ French Bonnet @ $3.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet
French Bonnet was far too good for her opposition at Newcastle last start, and a repeat could be on the cards.
The Kim Waugh-trained three-year-old has since finished close-up in a trial at Gosford, which should have her prime and ready to fire.
Carrying 55.5kg is ideal, and after opening at $4 with bookmakers, her odds have firmed considerably during the week.
