Looking to cap off a good second placing at Newcastle is Sonofdec, who is a proven winner, and the small field should suit.
The four-year-old son of Kermandec owns four wins from 16 starts, and getting 3kg off his back only helps his chances against this field.
His odds have drifted, but he’s worth putting on top.

Alliri was good enough to win consecutive races last preparation at Beaumont and Randwick, which is good enough form for this race.
