Gosford horse racing tips & form

Race 1. (14:35) Gosford It Maiden (1100m)

#1 – Foolish @ $2.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Kim Waugh lines up the three-year-old gelding who comes off consecutive placings to open his career.

The son of Nicconi finished third on debut at Newcastle before running second behind Sungblue last start at Gosford.

He looks ready to win and he will likely sit off the pace and come with a big run down the outside in the straight.

Race 2. (15:10) Industree Group Maiden (1200m)

#10 – Marooniyah @ $3.70 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Team Hawkes lines up the three-year-old filly who should appreciate the ease in class after running in the city.

The daughter of Sebring wasn’t too far away at Canterbury last start where she didn’t handle the heavy conditions.

Her run prior was a fifth behind the talented King of Sparta, so that bodes well for a run at midweek level.

Race 3. (15:45) Central Coast Granite BM64 (1200m)

#3 – Marnix @ $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Marnix has steadily improved this season and after running second at Kembla Grange, he looks set to win.

The four-year-old gelding owns one win and two placings from eight attempts, and getting the inside draw is ideal on this track.

After opening at $4.40, the Richard Litt-trained gelding has firmed into $4. That is a solid move for the former James Cummings-trained runner, who could enjoy his new surroundings.

Race 4. (14:20) Narara Plumbing Services BM68 (1000m)

#1 – Proud Mia @ $3.30 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Proud Mia owns two wins from her last three starts, and although they came against country opposition, she’s good enough to win on Wednesday.

The Nick Olive-trained four-year-old is a professional six-time winner, with four of those wins coming over this distance.

She opened at $3.90 with bookmakers before firming into $3.30, which is a sizable move in a small field.

Race 5. (14:55) Pirtek Central Coast BM68 (1100m)

#4 – Forzanini @ $3.30 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Forzanini is fresh up for Peter and Paul Snowden after some pleasing trial form at Randwick.

The three-year-old scored a trial win before placing last start behind Mensa Missile, which is excellent form for this level of racing.

This is her best distance and punters get odds worth taking.

Race 6. (15:30) Sneddon Bros BM68 (1100m)

#9 – Almighty Rising @ $2.15 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Almighty Rising has the form on the board and it holds him in good stead for this contest.

The Hawkes-trained son of Flying Artie finished down the field on debut at Caulfield, but that came behind General beau and Cox Plate placegetter Anamoe.

He then went to Sydney and scored at Canterbury before running second behind Larkspur Run, so the form is much better than what he faces here.

$2.15 could firm to an odds-on quote on race day.
