Gosford horse racing tips & form
Race 1. (13:25) 1st Crop Yes Yes Yes Foals BM68 (1200m)
#1 – Park Avenue – Bet @ Sportsbet
The three-year-old won his first two starts before placing in two subsequent runs, which is excellent form for this level of racing.
He is a well-bred son of Fastnet Rock who was 3.5 lengths behind the winner at Gosford last start, but we expect that form to hold up nicely.
Barrier two is ideal and we expect plenty of money to come for him.
Race 2. (14:00) XXXX BM78 (1600m)
#3 – Majella – Bet @ Sportsbet
Majella looked good when scoring at Newcastle three starts back and her form since has been respectable.
The seven-year-old mare won by just under a length before heading to Randwick and finishing fourth behind Tampering, who raced again on Saturday.
She then ran second behind Come Along, so the form checks out, and having James McDonald in the saddle only strengthens her chances.
Race 3. (14:35) The Agency Real Estate BM72 (1900m)
#1 – Unamerican – Bet @ Sportsbet
Unamerican is shooting for three consecutive wins after scoring at Gosford at his last start.
The five-year-old is unbeaten in two starts at Gosford and he owns four wins from five starts at this distance.
60.5kg is a concern, but he rides the speed and he should be tough to handle.
Race 4. (15:10) Vinery BM78 (1200m)
#4 – Quantico – Bet @ Sportsbet
The five-year-old scored back-to-back wins before disappointing at Randwick last start when running 7.5 lengths behind All Time Legend.
His trial form since has been solid, including a second placing at Randwick behind Zelady Luck earlier this month.
Having James McDonald in the saddle is ideal and he only needs to navigate the wide draw to be right in contention.
Race 5. (15:45) Tab BM72 (1600m)
#5 – Mightybeel – Bet @ Sportsbet
Chris Waller lines up the four-year-old gelding who comes off a trial win at Warwick Farm by three lengths.
The son of Savabeel has been around the mark throughout his career and his most recent effort for fourth behind Travest and Blaze a Trail ranks highly.
It’s another top ride for James McDonald and punters could get each-way odds on race day.
Race 6. (16:20) Ranvet BM72 (1100m)
#1 – Nags to Riches – Bet @ Sportsbet
James McDonald links up with Nags to Riches, who is a three-time winner from eight starts.
The four-year-old mare by Written Tycoon won at Randwick three starts back behind running fifth behind More Prophets and Selburose in two subsequent starts.
The Brad Widdup-trained runner is unbeaten at Gosford and he could keep that record intact on Wednesday.
Race 7. (16:55) Earthlight @ Darley BM78 (1100m)
#11 – Ashema – Bet @ Sportsbet
Ashema ended her first campaign with a win and three consecutive placings, which is good enough form for this level of racing.
The three-year-old comes off a second placing behind Xtremetime, who was an extremely talented type last season.
Annabel Neasham is in good form and dropping in class could do the trick.
