We have expert betting tips for the card this Wednesday at Grafton that features eight quality betting races.
The Jacaranda Cup headlines the meeting and we have our best value bets available.
Grafton horse racing tips & form
Race 1. (14:00) Fidelity Feed ‘n’ Go Maiden (1100m)
#7 – Divine Courage – Bet @ Sportsbet
Divine Courage finished second on debut at Gold Coast as a $15 chance, but he should be much shorter on Wednesday.
The three-year-old son of Divine Prophet doesn’t meet an overly tough field here, so we’re expecting big things.
Drawing barrier three is ideal, so put on top.
Race 2. (14:35) Herb Blanchard Haulage BM58 (1600m)
#2 – Rahaan – Bet @ Sportsbet
Rahaan has scored two wins from her last three starts, including a win at Grafton last time out.
The five-year-old scored impressively by four lengths in the wet, and conditions aren’t too dissimilar on Wednesday.
Two of her four wins have come at Grafton, so she should go well.
Race 3. (15:10) S’side Pharmacy Jacaranda Maiden (1700m)
#4 – Hichaux – Bet @ Sportsbet
Hichaux scored consecutive second placings at Grafton earlier this preparation before finishing sixth at Newcastle last start.
The Knight-trained son of High Chaparral didn’t handle the rise in distance, so dropping back to 1700m is ideal.
Punters get each-way odds.
Race 4. (15:50) XXXX Gold C1 Plate (2200m)
#1 – Bold Contender – Bet @ Sportsbet
Bold Contender is knocking on the door after consecutive second placings, so we’re keen on his chances.
The five-year-old son of Ocean Park owns one win and eight placings from 14 starts, so he is rarely too far away from the prize.
The field is there for the taking, so take the value.
Race 5. (16:30) CRJC Life Members BM66 (1400m)
#4 – Franklin Corners – Bet @ Sportsbet
Franklin Corners is a five-time winner from 19 starts, including his last two starts at Lismore.
The five-year-old owns two wins and three placings from eight attempts on the track, and he handles all track conditions.
He won’t be worried about many runners in this field, so take whatever odds bookmakers release.
Race 6. (17:05) Book a Xmas Raceday Marquee Maiden (1100m)
#7 – Coco Rox – Bet @ Sportsbet
Coco Rox ran third on debut at Doomben and there is little wrong with her trial form since.
The Matthew Dunn-trained filly has won a trial and finished second twice, so with the race experience under her belt, she should be ready to fire.
We expect plenty of money to come for her on race day.
Race 7. (17:45) Jacaranda Cup (1100m)
#2 – Tara Jasmine – Bet @ Sportsbet
Tara Jasmine has won three of her last four starts, including a 2.3-length win on this track last time out.
The four-year-old mare is unbeaten in five attempts at Grafton, so she is a track specialist and that’s hard to overlook.
We’re not overlooking those stats, and she is our most confident bet on the day.
Race 8. (18:20) Racecourse Function BM58 (1175m)
#4 – Thunder Moon – Bet @ Sportsbet
Thunder Moon scored an impressive win on debut at Murwillumbah, and that form should stack up nicely here.
The three-year-old son of Shalaa scored by a half-length as a $4.20 chance, and punters should expect similar odds this time around.
Barrier one is ideal and we’re confident.
