Happy Valley Racing Tips for Wednesday, April 22nd 2026

We have expert betting tips for racing at Happy Valley in Hong Kong on Wednesday, which includes nine races at the quality midweek meeting.

Punters get good value odds for the Hong Kong racing feature, and we have betting tips for every race on the card.

Race 1. (21:40) Flamingo Flower Handicap (1200m)

#3 – Concorde Star

Concorde Star hasn’t run well at his last three starts, but his form earlier this preparation was good enough.

The four-year-old son of Ardrossan won at Happy Valley to start this preparation before running second, so the form checks out.

Barrier five is ideal, so include him in picks.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 2. (22:10) Freesia Handicap (1650m)

#6 – Double Bingo

Punters should get each-way odds for Double Bingo, who finished second at Happy Valley last time out.

That’s a good form guide for the five-year-old son of Charm Spirit, who owns a win and two placings at the track.

He gets a good run from the barrier, which should take him close.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 3. (22:40) Geranium Handicap (1650m)

#4 – Fortune Star

Fortune Star isn’t the most consistent type going around, but he won well earlier this preparation at Happy Valley.

The four-year-old son of U S Navy Flag ran well enough for fourth at Happy Valley last start, and slight improvement is enough to take it close.

We expect each-way odds from bookmakers on race night.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 4. (23:10) Lavendar Handicap (1200m)

#3 – Georgian Sigma

The three-year-old son of Shalaa is nearing a win after two placings from three starts, including a third placing at Sha Tin last start.

He was only 1.2 lengths behind the winner, and he was considered good enough two starts back to run as the $1.60 favourite.

Punters should expect him to run as the race favourite.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 5. (23:40) The Lusitano Challenge Cup (1200m)

#1 – Speedy Smartie

Consistent form is with Speedy Smartie, who is already a four-time winner this season.

The six-year-old son of Satono Aladdin won well three back before adding consecutive placings to his record, so the form checks out.

Barrier 10 doesn’t make it easy, but he only needs luck from out wide.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 6. (00:10) Heather Handicap (1000m)

#4 – Beauty Show

Looking to improve on a debut second placing is Beauty Show, who was only a half-length behind them earlier this month.

The three-year-old son of Shalaa paid $6.40 on debut, but punters are unlikely to get those same odds on Wednesday.

Zac Purton rides, which adds to our confidence.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 7. (00:45) Kalanchoe Handicap (1000m)

#5 – Bunta Baby

Boasting three wins from his last four starts is Bunta Baby, who won by just under a length last time out.

The five-year-old son of Cable Bay owns five wins and three placings from 17 starts, including three wins at Happy Valley.

Drawing wide isn’t ideal, but he could settle handy and kick well.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 8. (01:15) Oncidium Handicap (1800m)

#11 – Ace War

Ace War capped off consistent form with back-to-back wins at Happy Valley, scoring both by two lengths.

The five-year-old loves racing at the track with two wins and five placings from 10 starts, and with Purton riding, he could improve his track record.

Anything around $3 would be a good price from bookmakers.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 9. (01:50) Roselle Handicap (1200m)

#6 – Greater Bae

Greater Bae is a former Australian, who won at Port Macquarie by 4.5 lengths before heading to Hong Kong.

His form in Hong Kong has been inconsistent, but he won well at Happy Valley earlier this campaign before adding a placing last start.

It’s an even field, so punters should get each-way odds.

Stake: 1 Unit
