gobet happy valley racing tips

We have expert betting tips for racing at Happy Valley on Wednesday, which features nine races at the midweek meeting.

Punters get good value odds for the Hong Kong racing feature, and we have betting tips for every race on the card.

Race 1. (21:40) Cochrane Handicap (1200m)

#4 – Concorde Star

Concorde Star looked good earlier this preparation when winning and placing at Happy Valley, and although beaten twice since, he wasn’t far away.

The four-year-old son of Ardrossan typically pays value odds with bookmakers, and there are no superstars in this race.

Getting the inside draw is enough to take him close.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 2. (22:10) D’aguilar Handicap (1650m)

#1 – Beauty Viva

Seeking back-to-back wins is Beauty Viva, who scored by just under a length at Happy Valley last month.

The five-year-old isn’t always the most consistent type going around, but this isn’t a tough field, and his confidence levels should be high.

Hugh Bowman rides, which adds to his appeal.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 3. (22:40) Graham Handicap (1000m)

#2 – Beauty Thunder

Looking to cap off three consecutive second placings with a win is Beauty Thunder, who deserves another win this preparation.

The five-year-old son of Night of Thunder owns a win and five placings at Happy Valley, and he only needs luck from a wide barrier.

This race is there for the taking, so include him in picks at each-way odds.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 4. (23:10) D'aguilar Handicap (1650m)

#10 – Winning Data

It has been a long time between drinks for Winning Data, but after running third last start, he’s heading in the right direction.

The six-year-old son of Capitalist was only a half-length behind the winner as a $10 chance, and we expect his odds to be shorter here.

55.5kg with Karis Teetan in the saddle adds to his chances.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 5. (23:40) The Sports Club Challenge Cup (1200m)

#7 – Forerunner

Punters could get value odds with Forerunner, who was only a nose behind the winner last time out at Happy Valley.

The seven-year-old son of Almanzor has yet to win at the track, but he has been close with two second placings from five attempts.

Look for each-way odds on race night.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 6. (00:10) Wyndham Handicap (1200m)

#1 – Crossborderdude

Crossborderdude didn’t fire on debut, but he has since added a win and four placings from five starts.

The three-year-old son of El Roca was beaten as a $1.80 chance last start, but it was a close finish, so he didn’t lose any admirers.

Zac Purton rides, which adds to our confidence.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 7. (00:45) Glenealy Handicap (1650m)

#7 – Romanic Gladiator

Romantic Gladiator showed good form in Europe when winning two races before being sold to Hong Kong interests.

The three-year-old son of Ten Sovereigns ran fourth in his Hong Kong debut before finishing ninth last time out, but he wasn’t far away.

Carrying 54kg should be enough to take him close.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 8. (01:15) On Lan Handicap (1200m)

#9 – Ace Champion

Looking to improve on a second placing last time out is Ace Champion, who should be at much shorter odds this time around.

He paid $15 when placing last start, and with a couple of runs under his belt this preparation, he should be ready to show his best.

If he gets luck from barrier 12, he should run well.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 9. (01:50) On Lan Handicap (1200m)

#3 – Red Sea

Red Sea is getting close to posting a Hong Kong win after running third in two runs this preparation.

The former New Zealand thoroughbred, who ran second at Group 1 level, should win in HK soon, and this is a winnable race.

Purton rides, which adds to our confidence levels.

Stake: 2 Units
