Happy Valley horse racing tips

Race 1. (21:15) Jupiter C4 Handicap (1200m)

#1 – Universal Go Go – Bet @ Sportsbet

Universal Go Go comes off a much-improved effort for second at Happy Valley and he could go one better.

The seven-year-old son of Azamour is a four-time winner and 15-time placegetter on the track, so that can’t be overlooked.

Punters get value odds and he’s worth having in selections.

Race 2. (21:45) Neptune C5 Handicap (2200m)

#3 – Amazing Boy – Bet @ Sportsbet

Amazing Boy has yet to win from 10 starts but the four-year-old gelding is getting close after consecutive placings.

The son of Holy Roman Emperor has finished within a length of the winner at his last two starts and getting Joao Moreira in the saddle helps.

Barrier six should give him a nice drag into the race, so put him on top.

Race 3. (22:15) Saturn C4 Handicap (1650m)

#5 – Shadow Breaker – Bet @ Sportsbet

Shadow Breaker has already won at Happy Valley this season and we think he’s got another win in him.

The five-year-old son of Excelebration scored narrowly fresh up before going close when second behind Red Majesty last time out.

Punters always get big odds, so take the value available.

Race 4. (22:45) Mercury C3 Handicap (1000m)

#9 – Fabulous Eight – Bet @ Sportsbet

The six-year-old has yet to win at Happy Valley, but with five placings from nine attempts, we like his chances on Wednesday.

He has rattled off three consecutive placings behind some nice types, so that form stacks up nicely against this level of opposition.

Take the each-way odds available.

Race 5. (23:15) Uranus C4 Handicap (1800m)

#8 – Winning Volatility – Bet @ Sportsbet

The four-year-old hasn’t been too far away from the prize in two runs this preparation. He finished fourth fresh up and 2.5 lengths behind the winner last time out.

Getting Joao Moreira in the saddle is a good betting guide and we’re expecting solid betting support late in the piece.

He has ability on his day, so stick with him.

Race 6. (23:45) Jupiter C4 Handicap (1200m)

#3 – Great Harvest – Bet @ Sportsbet

Great Harvest loves running at Happy Valley with four wins from nine starts and we like his chances to win again.

The six-year-old son of Harbour Watch scored a win fresh up this season and he has gone close in two subsequent runs, so it’s good form.

Barrier four should see him find a good spot in the running and kick strongly.

Race 7. (00:15) Mars C3 Handicap (1650m)

#2 – Cheerful Days – Bet @ Sportsbet

We’re sticking with the form runner of the field in Cheerful Days. He is shooting for his fourth consecutive win, which is some effort.

The Lui-trained five-year-old son of Smart Missile scored by 2.8 lengths two starts back and anything close to that effort is good enough here.

1kg comes off his back and that could be enough to see him win.

Race 8. (00:50) Venus C3 Handicap (1200m)

#6 – A Smile Like Yours – Bet @ Sportsbet

A Smile Like Yours owns three wins and six placings from 14 starts, so he doesn’t know how to run a bad race.

The five-year-old son of Per Incanto has been in work for a while and he has three wins and three placings from seven attempts.

It’s another good ride for Moreira, who could have a big night.
