Happy Valley horse racing tips

Race 1. (21:45) Whitfield C5 Handicap (1650m)

#7 – Happy Jai Jai – Bet @ Sportsbet

Happy Jai Jai owns two placings this preparation and getting Joao Moreira in the saddle could see his form improve.

The son of Savabeel finished 2.4 lengths behind the winner at Happy Valley last start and he does his best racing on this surface.

Carrying 53.5kg could tip the scales in his favour.

Race 2. (22:15) Merlin C4 Handicap (1000m)

#6 – Faribault – Bet @ Sportsbet

Faribault is getting close to posting another win after four solid efforts this preparation.

The Paul O’Sullivan-trained son of Zoustar was only 1.6 lengths behind the winner last start and he looked good after a few runs last season.

He won at Happy Valley to break maidens, so he’s good enough.

Race 3. (22:45) Tong Shui C4 Handicap (1200m)

#4 – Singapore Spirit – Bet @ Sportsbet

Singapore Spirit didn’t do much wrong when running second at Happy Valley on debut and he could be a nice type in the making.

The son of Vancouver rises in weight for this contest, but it looks like an easier field and getting Moreira in the saddle helps.

Punters should look for a betting move on race night.

Race 4. (23:15) Marble C3 Handicap (2200m)

#4 – Vincy – Bet @ Sportsbet

Each-way odds should be available for Vincy, who didn’t fire to start this preparation but he’s hitting his straps now.

The son of Elzaam finished fourth at Happy Valley two back before running fifth at Sha Tin last start. Running two lengths behind Entrusted is a solid form guide.

Blake Shinn rides and the odds should be appealing.

Race 5. (23:45) Westlands C4 Handicap (1650m)

#1 – Loyal Baby – Bet @ Sportsbet

The son of War Command comes off three consecutive second placings at Happy Valley and he’s running well enough to win.

He was only a nose behind Charizard last time out, so he’s knocking on the door of scoring an overdue win.

Punters should watch the market for any positive betting moves.

Race 6. (00:15) Tong Shui C4 Handicap (1200m)

#5 – Savvy Delight – Bet @ Sportsbet

Savvy Delight finished fourth on debut at Happy Valley and there was plenty of merit in the performance.

The son of Exceed and Excel finished under a length behind the winner and Joao Moreira takes over the riding, which is a positive.

Barrier five is ideal and he should get a nice drag into the race.

Race 7. (00:45) Java C3 Handicap (1200m)

#2 – Winning Method – Bet @ Sportsbet

Winning Method already owns three placings this preparation and he can add another solid performance.

The Charlie Shum-trained son of Holy Roman Emperor does his best racing at Happy Valley and all but one of his four placings have come on this track.

We expect him to be fighting out the finish.

Race 8. (01:15) Fort C2 Handicap (1000m)

#3 – Handsome Bobo – Bet @ Sportsbet

Handsome Bobo is another Shum-trained runner who is getting close to posting his best effort.

The seven-year-old gelding finished second fresh up before running 1.5 lengths behind the winner at Happy Valley. Form behind Sight Success bodes well and he loves racing here.

He owns three wins and six placings at Happy Valley, so put him on top.

Race 9. (01:50) Java C3 Handicap (1200m)

#4 – Classic Posh – Bet @ Sportsbet

Classic Posh showed ability fresh up when winning at Happy Valley and he could get back to his best here.

The son of Testa Rossa hasn’t been too far away since and he doesn’t need to improve much to take this out.

1kg comes off his back to help with the weight.
