Happy Valley horse racing tips

Race 1. (21:45) Yuk Sau C5 Handicap (1800m)

#1 – Good Days – Bet @ Sportsbet

Good Days is slowly improving this season and the Charlie Shum-trained runner will enjoy having Joao Moreira in the saddle.

He is a seven-year-old gelding that was only three lengths behind the winner last start and he is a past winner at Happy Valley.

Each-way odds should be available in the opening race.

Race 2. (22:15) Yik Yam C4 Handicap (1650m)

#6 – King Dragon – Bet @ Sportsbet

Coming off a win at Happy Valley is King Dragon, which scored by just under a length earlier this month.

The Manfred Man-trained four-year-old capped off consistent form with the win and he runs his best races on this track.

Zac Purton rides and he should be tough to hold out.

Race 3. (22:45) Shan Kwong C1 Handicap (1650m)

#3 – Star Shine – Bet @ Sportsbet

Star Shine has been getting close to a win after consecutive placings and that form bodes well for this contest.

The Lui-trained seven-year-old finished second at Sha Tin last time out and he drops in weight for this contest.

Punters should get each-way odds and he is worth backing.

Race 4. (23:15) King Kwong C3 Handicap (1000m)

#1 – Flying Genius – Bet @ Sportsbet

Flying Genius has been in the money in 11 of his 19 starts, so he’s a consistent type that could go close.

He scored a win at Happy Valley four starts back and his recent consecutive placings holds him in good stead for this contest.

Carrying 60kg to victory is never easy but Zac Purton rides and punters should be confident.

Race 5. (23:45) Village C4 Handicap (1000m)

#2 – My My My – Bet @ Sportsbet

The three-year-old son of Encumbered finished third on debut at Happy Valley and he has room for improvement.

He was only a half-length behind Moment of Power and punters should expect another close-up effort from the rising type.

Karis Teetan rides off the inside draw, which is a big help.

Race 6. (00:15) Blue Pool C1 Handicap (1200m)

#5 – Grateful Heart – Bet @ Sportsbet

Grateful Heart is a six-time winner from 13 starts and he could continue his rise through the grades.

The son of Written Tycoon comes off consecutive wins at Happy Valley where he scored by 2.5 and 1.3 lengths respectively.

He has group racing on the horizon and he gets everything in his favour on Wednesday.

Race 7. (00:50) Wang Tak C4 Handicap (1200m)

#3 – Daily Beauty – Bet @ Sportsbet

Daily Beauty comes off a win at Happy Valley where he scored by 1.5 lengths and a repeat could be on the cards.

The five-year-old son of All American goes his best races on this track, which includes 12 starts for two wins and five placings.

Drawing the inside barrier is ideal and Joao Moreira rides.

Race 8. (01:20) Sing Woo C3 Handicap (1200m)

#7 – Kurpany – Bet @ Sportsbet

Kurpany is a two-time winner at Happy Valley and those wins have come this year. The four-year-old won by 3.5 lengths in January before winning by 1.5 lengths last start.

He is a nice type on the rise and it’s another good ride for Joao Moreira, who looks set for a big night.

Punters should expect short odds on race night.

Race 9. (01:55) Tsui Man C3 Handicap (1650m)

#11 – Incanto Prepared – Bet @ Sportsbet

Incanto Prepared has won three of his last four starts, including a 3.3-length win at Happy Valley last December.

The five-year-old stays down in the weights for this run and that is a bonus. Carrying only 54.5kg bodes well given that he carried 59.5kg to victory earlier this season.

Punters should get each-way odds in the final race of the night.
