Happy Valley racing tips

Race 1. (21:35) Wang Tak Handicap (1200m)

#1 – Good Luck Happy

Tony Cruz lines up Good Luck Happy, who went close on debut at Happy Valley before finishing fifth last time out.

The four-year-old son of Starspangledbanner doesn’t need to improve much to beat this field, and getting Zac Purton riding helps.

He only needs a touch of luck from the wide barrier to go close.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 2. (22:05) Wang Tak Handicap (1200m)

#4 – Giant Ballon

The four-year-old son of Mehmas showed good speed when running second two back, and he wasn’t far away last time out.

He followed it up with a fourth last time out, and something close to those efforts is enough to see him win on Wednesday.

It’s another premium ride for Purton, who could have a big night.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 3. (22:35) Shan Kwong Handicap (1650m)

#2 – Helene Feeling

Helene Feeling is enjoying a purple patch after posting consecutive wins at Happy Valley before placing at Group 3 level behind Speed Dragon.

The six-year-old loves racing at the track with 19 starts for six wins and six placings, and we expect him to be competitive again.

Hugh Bowman rides, so look for a betting push.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 4. (23:05) Yuk Sau Handicap (1800m)

#12 – Storm Runner

Looking to cap off five consecutive placings with a win is Storm Runner, who finished under a half-length behind the winner at his last two.

The four-year-old son of Microphone went close behind Beauty Missile last start, and dropping to 53kg is ideal.

We expect him to be fighting out the finish.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 5. (23:35) Yik Yam Handicap (1650m)

#10 – Incanto Star

Improving with every run this preparation is Incanto Star, who looms as a winning hope following back-to-back placings.

The four-year-old son of Per Incanto is still learning what the racing game is all about, and it shouldn’t take him long to win.

Punters should get each-way odds on race night.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 6. (00:05) King Kwong Handicap (1000m)

#7 – Hey Bros

He is a former Australian coming off a fourth at Hawkesbury, but he looked better with winning twice at Goulburn.

It’s only provincial Australian form, but the four-year-old son of Brave Smash is good enough to compete at midweek level.

Look for a betting push.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 7. (00:40) Sing Woo Handicap (1200m)

#9 – California Blitz

Boasting consistent form is California Blitz, who owns two wins and five placings from seven starts this preparation.

The four-year-old son of Capitalist gets in well off on the weights at 54.5kg, which makes him tough to hold out.

Punters always get each-way odds, so take the value.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 8. (01:15) Blue Pool Handicap (1200m)

#2 – Storm Rider

Storm Rider owns three wins from his last four starts, and we’re putting the form runner in our picks.

The five-year-old owns three wins and four placings from 10 starts at Happy Valley, which is an excellent stat line.

Bowman rides from an inside draw, which adds to our confidence.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 9. (00:50) Tsui Man Handicap (1650m)

#5 – Corleone

Corleone kicked off this preparation with consecutive wins before running second at Happy Valley last time out.

The five-year-old son of Dundeel loves running at the track and getting in with 53.5kg on his back is enough to take him close.

We expect him to be right around the mark.

Stake: 1.5 Units
